The build quality is also excellent, feeling very solid and well-constructed. The only downside is that it is a bit on the heavy side, but that is to be expected with a lens of this caliber. The biggest negative (for me at least) is that it's SUPER LARGE.

You can get a cheap flash on Amazon; I bought a Neewer NW680 for very little cash (I think it was around £30 - £50) - I don't use it much in the types of photography I usually do, but when I'm trying to get indoor shots of my dog, it's very useful; excellent value for money considering how much a Canon Speedlite flash can cost. You may think the pop-up flash built into your T6 will do just fine, but an add-on flash offers so much more flexibility, and would be a good complement for your doll shots.

I just got a Z5 so I'll likely be selling my Sigma and Tokina lenses since I don't have much use for them anymore. I'll likely miss them both for their performance for the price which is where I'm coming from with my recommendations.

In the end, if you're thinking about getting this lens, the only question on your mind should be "is 35mm long enough for me?" As far as anything else in the equation, Sigma has you covered better than anyone else. If 35mm is long enough, there's no reason to hold off on this lens. If not, go out and get this lens and a 50mm prime! ;) PS: I'd HIGHLY recommend getting the Sigma USB Dock with this lens, at only $60 extra. All zooms are known to be a bit off on focus on one end or the other to varying extents

Having that much aperture opens up an entire world o possibilities and because is a static lens, you are forced to be creative with your angles and positioning. Let alone the affordability of this lens, I would recommend this to anyone interested in buying their first lens.

If you shoot mostly at a wide angle setting, and you're craving for more aperture, this lens is for you. Even more so if you're a crop-sensor person (this lens is crop-sensor specific) and you're not planning to go full-frame anytime soon. Also consider some possible inconveniences of the lens before purchasing it, like the fact that is not small, and is not lightweight.
