 On a full frame, a camera stop down to F 2.8 for an improvement and F 4 for bright corners. The lens is able to focus as closely as 45 centimeters the same as the mark 2 lens, but nowhere near as close as the new STM lens close-up image quality is a touch fuzzy at F 1.8, but at F 2

8 for more clarity more again at f/4 and at F 5.6. Those corners are sharp. So, as I said, the normal performance for canons classic 50 millimeter F, 1 point 8 lens design

 Just for your interest. Here'S canons newest STM version of the lens in action, the STM focus motor is actually just a tiny bit slower than the mark 2 lens and about the same speed as the mark 1. However, of course the STM motor is far quieter. Overall, I would say that the older Mark, one new version of this lens - is definitely preferable to use over there mark 2 version

 Well, the mark 1 and Mark 2 versions of these lenses have the same optics but a different, build quality, and that's why this old Mark 1 version is still surprisingly popular over on ebay. It'S considered to have superior build quality, it looks a little chunky and old-fashioned, but this lens still manages to be very small and light, and it does feel slightly less plasticky than the mark 2 version. The front glass element is quite deeply recessed, offering a bit more protection from knocks and scratches or blaring from sunlight. One of the big differences is that it has a metal lens mount rather than a plastic mount found on the mark 2 version

Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 Mark 1 - The Original - lens review with samples (Full-frame and APS-C)

8 lens and am blown away by how much cleaner and crisper it is than the 18-45 kit lens. Now when I edit footage I can tell the difference in lighting and video quality from the two lenses. Everything is on a tripod for what I shoot so I don't need a zoom. Should I get a Canon 24mm 2

8, or will it produce the same image quality as the kit lens? The 24mm is not expensive so I don't know how much of a difference it will make from my kit lens.

Is the 24mm f2.8 lens that much better than the kit 18-45mm?

People are suggesting a 70-200 and that would be my recommendation for football or soccer, but for basketball usually you should put yourself courtside near the basket.

So right now I currently shoot with a Canon Rebel t7 to shoot indoor basketball. Problem is most of the gyms I shoot in a pretty dimly lit and the camera doesn’t perform that well in low light. So what budget camera could handle low-light situations and can also have quick af in low light?

Need Help looking for a new camera

You can get a cheap flash on Amazon; I bought a Neewer NW680 for very little cash (I think it was around £30 - £50) - I don't use it much in the types of photography I usually do, but when I'm trying to get indoor shots of my dog, it's very useful; excellent value for money considering how much a Canon Speedlite flash can cost.  You may think the pop-up flash built into your T6 will do just fine, but an add-on flash offers so much more flexibility, and would be a good complement for your doll shots.

Your T6 is a decent camera (I started with one); what's likely holding you back is your lenses.  The 18-55mm kit lens is competent at best at most things, but not brilliant at any of them, and the 75-300mm telephoto is arguably the worst lens Canon have ever made for the EF mount.

Long story short, 5 years ago i bought a canon t6 with an 18–55 and a 75-300 mm lens and i regretted it several months later. i still have it, i still use it, but man, the quality of the photo sucks so bad. it’s so pixelated and noisy, and it lacks the sharpness I’d love to have while shooting. 
3 years ago, I used a much nicer camera, and a much nicer lens. It was a canon model but honestly I don’t even remember what it was. I LOVED IT. It fit my skill set much nicer (I’m no professional but lemme tell you, the t6 ain’t it for me) and the photos were so sharp and beautiful. 

I don’t shoot humans, animals, sports, micro things, landscapes, retail, weddings, etc etc. I shoot 18” dolls :) Not quite micro, and definitely not human. 
I would love to invest into a camera//lenses that are great for stopmotions//b-roll//sharper shots//
and would love to have capabilities to shoot in low light, and i’d love to just have an awesome time with photography and videography. 
- the canon m50 seems like the obvious next step. While it is, (it seems great don’t get me wrong) but the step up isn’t big enough.) I’m not willing to spend thousands upon thousands, but I’m willing to make the step up for me to grow into it. I want to be challenged in terms of growth, not restrictions. I get that to be a good photographer, you need to adapt and utilize what you have, but I’ve done everything I could. At this point, it’s hard to grow when your own gear is the type where it’s grain/noise prone. And other things like no flip out screen etc. 
- i think i want to stick to canon, but my mind is open to Sony. 
- the 50mm lens sounds like my next step no matter what, but i am debating between the .4 and .8.

there’s a lot more i have to say but i’m tired and i assume nobody will read this anyways lol

Big Bang for your Buck

Nice fast lens. The autofocus is a bit slow and struggles in dimlighting, but then again, can’t beat the price compared to a USM lens. I’m just starting out and it’s perfect for me.

8 STM and, if you prefer a slightly tighter field of view, the EF 40mm f/2.8 STM, are better choices there, and both are quite affordable. Full-frame shooters have made more of an investment in a camera system, and are better off spending a bit more on the EF 50mm f/1.4 USM or our Editors' Choice, the Sigma 50mm f/1

Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Review

 From the moment I picked up the lens, I knew that it was a complete redesign from the old model, and it sure needed it. On the rear of the lens we now have a metallic mount, something I’m so glad to see. Moving up from the plastic mount has increased it’s weight slightly, but also hugely increases the longevity of this lens. On the front we’ve now got a 49mm filter thread, which is even smaller than the old 52mm thread

  The bokeh looks fantastic, chromatic aberation has been greatly reduced compared to the old version, and vignetting if almost no existent. Once you knock it down to around f2.8 this lens is about as sharp as you’d get for any lens around this price range. Colours are handled very well as well and can really pop if you get them in the right conditions

 On the new 50 stm this has now been upgraded to 7 rounded aperture blade and I’ve found that it produces some lovely bokeh. It’s very smooth and very creamy, and because it’s not a funny shape, it’s also not so distracting. Now to me it’s not a huge deal because I didn’t mind the old 50’s bokeh shapes, but I guess it is a nice upgrade.  AUTOFOCUS: Of course one of the biggest new changes to this lens is the inclusion of an STM or stepping motor

 Where as on the old nifty fifty the closest you could get was 45cm away, now the new model you can take photos from around 35cm. And paired up with a crop sensor body like the Canon 70d, you can really get some nice close up shots with lens before investing in a dedicated macro solution.  BOKEH: Now even though the nifty fifty was a cheap lens, it still produced some fantastic images with a very shallow depth of field. It’s bokeh was a little funny though because it only had 5 aperture blade

A massive upgrade from the 50 1.8 - if you have one, it's time to upgrade :)

 Having that much aperture opens up an entire world o possibilities and because is a static lens, you are forced to be creative with your angles and positioning. Let alone the affordability of this lens, I would recommend this to anyone interested in buying their first lens.

 Now you may be watching this video and thinking to yourself well actually those videos look pretty good and you're right it's a really good lens it has really good optical quality but that's not the point the point is hand holding this even with ibis as you see right here is a little shaky now video is your thing and you have a serious rig okay maybe this would be recommended but for most handheld people yeah I don't think so as I ran around with it the only thing that really went through my head is having a lighter lens like an rf 24 to 70 is I'm not really sure this is one of those situations where the 2.0 aperture really outshines the practicality of a smaller and lighter lens so I'm going to leave you with my final thoughts on rf 28 to 70 while you browse through my favorite shots I've taken with this lens the zoom lenses have always had the reputation of being good at everything but not perfect at anything if you wanted the sharpness if you wanted the bokeh you'd always have to go grab your primes the 28 to 70 is not perfect and it doesn't achieve this across the board but canon made a giant leap from the zoom lens to the zoom lens which is the on the zoom lens market I want to thank dj titan for letting me film his set as well as provide the music for today's episode my final thought is this if you're looking for an awesome zoom lens that's gonna kick ass and kate names look no further you

 So who is this lens for? You're talking about f2 from 28 all the way to 70. That is a really unique design. Now the reason why you're even able to do this is because back in the day when you had DSLRs and you had a mirror and all that you couldn't design a lens like this because of flange distances and things like that. If you're sensitive to weight I don't recommend this lens I'm just going to say it right now it is a pain in the ass to shoot with this lens all day if you're sensitive to weight if you have back problems if you have tennis elbow if you have shoulder issues this is not the lens for you

8 or even an EF24-72.8. I'm going to say right off the bat that you probably shouldn't compare these two lenses because in my opinion they're not made for the same photographer. I'll do an in-depth review on the 24-70mm versus the 28-70mm at a later date but I want to make sure that I get off my chest that this is a specialist lens that's intended for a specific type of photographer whereas a 24-70mm f2

 Once again another con the price on this the price on this is super expensive 3200 dollars that's a big investment for somebody to make I would say if you're not a professional photographer this might be a bit of a stretch for you to pay for that's a lot of money if you're a hobbyist but hey it's your money. Another con of this lens is there is no is there's no image stabilization so if you have an r5 or an r6 you have the in-body stabilization which claims up to five stops I don't think that's technically true I think it's closer to three but another thing to keep in mind is if you're shooting this lens at f2 and you're outdoors and you're keeping your shutter speed up do you really need image stabilization in the first place I will absolutely not recommend this for video you have to get some really amazing gimbal and you think about a cage and handle and a tomos ninja and all these other things that you'd have to put on a cage or even a gimbal and you're talking about an incredibly heavy setup I don't recommend this at all for video. Canon RF28-70 Review - 2 Years of Picture Examples

The one thing I dislike about this lens is the weight: however, it was not enough to discourage me from writing this review: The image quality is superb, and the fact that I can replace a bunch of lenses and still keep an F2 constant aperture makes it worth while. If you are on the fence about this lens, I suggest you rent it and see for yourselves. Its definitely a keeper for me.
