 Also, there is a rubber gasket around the kid which I'm predicting will fail at some point. When it does, I'll be calling parts dept for a replacement, since it would likely render it useless.

Disclaimer: I've only used it once since purchase; but what I can say is that where my old leaky crock pot could be set to low all day and cook a whole fryer chicken, this one had to be turned down to warm after only 6 hours and it was still dry as all heck. I won't return it because I don't have time to test run everything, but I will definitely need to see how I can adapt the cool time or recipe so I can start it when I leave in the morning and there is edible chicken when I get home. Just a bummer. Otherwise, this item is as described--I like the size and dimensions

 The only thing I would recommend is to actually be home on your first few uses so you can really get to know the temperature of yours. I have found with my new and old pot that they ran a little high and never needed as much time to cook as a recipe called for. That did take a little getting used to, but now I actually see it as a perk that makes having dinner ready that much easier. I really enjoy the lid lock as we attend military functions frequently that require us to bring a dish

Is this dial down here, which tells you the relative temperature of the contents of your slow cooker Department of Public Health, regulates that all food that's being held at warm should be a hundred and thirty-five degrees Fahrenheit, and that dial, while it doesn't give you an exact Temperature range in terms of degrees definitely gives you an idea of whether or not you need to plug it in immediately or if you can, let it sit for a while other nice additions that make it extremely portable are prongs on the back of the slow cooker That make it so that you can wrap the cord for easy storage and easy transport so well, it's certainly not the cheapest, slow cooker on the market right now

I have used this twice and I think that it gets too hot, although I did not have it 1/2 full and I think maybe I should have gotten the 4 qt size if you need to have the crock 1/2 to 2/3 full

The power meter shows that the power used is as follows:  Warm: 62 watts Low: 223 watts High: 251 watts  I wrote to Crock Pot's customer support and was told that these wattages are normal and that "Both the Low & High settings cook at 215 degrees F

 More often than not, its size serves to make dinner and then lunch for two days, for my husband and myself. This is a big Crock Pot. There are many like it but mine is in the kitchen.  Here are some of the things that I have made with this device:  - yams for Thanksgiving - spaghetti sauce - many varieties of chicken with stuff - shepherd's pie filling - curry sauce - Other  Visiting for the holidays, my mother made meatballs for Christmas Eve, letting them simmer on low all day long, and they were delicious and tender

 There are many like it but mine is in the kitchen.  Here are some of the things that I have made with this device:  - yams for Thanksgiving - spaghetti sauce - many varieties of chicken with stuff - shepherd's pie filling - curry sauce - Other  Visiting for the holidays, my mother made meatballs for Christmas Eve, letting them simmer on low all day long, and they were delicious and tender. My husband made a very successful sinigang with it, as well. Crock Pots are magical

This cooks beautifully however it is quite heavy to carry around while I appreciate the handle it's just too much for me to carry.

..This is my first oval crock pot and the overall quality of the brand seems to have declined and this is also by far the lightest in weight of all of the crock pots I have owned (none of which have failed, one was lost in a move, I cracked the lid of one and couldn't find a replacement, and I broke the stoneware insert on another). The stainless steel shell on this model would be very easy to damage (dents/scratches) although the stoneware insert seems fine

 As many others have mentioned the cord is very short, which I understand is a safety feature, but it seems to me it could be a few inches longer. The stoneware maintains the heat for a long time after turning the unit off. The locking lid works well and will be great for tail-gating or potlucks (my main reason for purchasing, so I don't feel as if I need a fancy model with all of the bells and whistles). Even with the locking lid, transport can still be tricky as the exterior of the crock pot is very hot, so I decided to buy the travel bag for this crock pot, since it was on sale, as well

OK, but not really a 'set it & forget it' crockpot & brand is not the same quality it once was...
