So before we get into hitting a few shots just to tell you about the test that I conducted, this club is aimed primarily at mid-teen or high handicap players struggling for distance therefore the testing I've done I've swung the club at 70mph with every shot, that's significantly under my current club head speed although I'm pretty sure I'll get there one day and it really is just to give you a reflective indication of what this club does for the people that it's aimed at. There's plenty of reviews online of people who can swing the club 95mph or so but that's not appropriate to most people. So this has got the standard 85g elevate shaft in steel, I've put in the head here and again I'm going to swing about 70mph, that's going to equate to someone who hits the 7 iron somewhere at the moment probably between 115 carry and 125 carry, something like that, if that's you then this test is designed to absolutely show you what this club can do

 Hi, Carl Bianco again back here on the channel, Hen the Head Prout Woking Golf Club and today's video is really to introduce you to the brand new Callaway Rogue ST Iron and today I'm going to be focusing on the Max OS version, the oversized version because there's an awful lot of people out there for whom distance in golf is a problem, stops them scoring so well, so this is a club which is primarily designed for you to hit the ball as easily as you can and as far as you can and today we're going to test it to see if that actually works, introduce you to a few of the bits and bobs that go on with the design and later on we've got a test against, interestingly, a club dating back to 2009-2010 which is the TaylorMade R9, some of you may have these, this was designed for distance in its day and again as you can see an oversized head and let's see what 10 years of technology in iron design is worth, if anything, results are quite interesting and then for final comparison I've just thrown in a couple of shots with my game club, my MP20 Blade, all 7 irons, also there's a couple of shots in there with the Callaway Rogue ST Max OS but with a graphite shaft instead of steel because it's the first time that Callaway have produced a specifically light head to go on graphite shafts and for those of you who are perhaps senior in age and struggling with club head speed, let's just see if the graphite does anything different and how it affects the ball flight, some quite interesting results to come on that, so stay tuned and let me show you around the golf club itself. Okay so here it is, first of all let's show you it's a fairly traditionally teardrop shaped Callaway iron head from the front, nothing too offensive there and you can see that because it's in the category of helping people we've got a nice wide sole for turf interaction, should let you get away with the odd fat shot that you might want to hit and the top edge is nice and thick as well as viewed from above, so trying to instil confidence as you address the golf ball. On the back however is where all the magic happens and inside the head here there's quite a lot of technology going on, there's tungsten located across the bottom and quite far away from the face to increase and optimise the launch angle for you, there's a red hot thin face on the front which is designed by AI to try and increase your ball speed, let's see if that works later and then to try and dampen the sound there's some microspheres of foam that have been placed in the head to try and make it not sound so hollow and tinny when you strike it and I'll let you be the judge of that when you see me hit it in a minute. So overall for me, for what it's trying to do it's a good looking golf club, very traditionally Callaway in design but that would be something that you'd be proud to have in the bag and it doesn't look too big and clunky and ugly

So behind the ball as I say we've got the big thick top edge, wants to sit quite nicely behind the golf ball and again wouldn't have a problem with that at all behind the golf ball

 So when we go into the heads these days, there's a lot more tungsten weight. That's the hottest trend in golf. Tungsten, tungsten, tungsten. Same thing as on the wedding ring is in the club head

 And there's forty nine in the Max OS, forty eight in the Pro and then forty six down in the Max OS Lite version. So it's going to be for those more moderate swing speeds. But so actually there's four models, but that Max OS is, you know, similar in terms of the light version versus normal. But, you know, artificial intelligence has been Callaway's kind of M

 It's pretty easy to figure out where the weight is here and there. Where do a lot of players miss? Here. So, of course, they want more weight there. So it can be more explosive across the entire face

I can feel like I can pick the ball with some spin, not to the point where it's like a fairway bunker shot, but to the point where I can compress it and not feel pain
