I was looking at buying my first snowboard and bindings this winter (I have had many seasons of experience using my brothers old gear). And I was looking at buying the Jones mountain twin which is a stiffer true twin. I was wondering how different having a park binding or a stiff binding would affect the ride. Like how would it feel to have a not stiff binding on a stiff board and vice Versa?

I rode the Free Thinker and def preferred the Pick Your Line (though I didn’t get a chance to try the skeleton key or flight attendant). As for bindings, I narrowed it down to Burton Genesis and Union Atlas and eventually chose the Burtons because they were both responsive and felt a little more cushioned.

27 years old and a seasoned boarder. Been riding for 13 years. I’m looking to buy a new board but have not bought a new board in 13 years. Looking for recommendations on board and bindings. Looking for all mountain or free style boards. I’m going to be doing mainly groomed trails or powder. Looking for good flexibility as well as good carving handling. I have a 1000 dollar budget what do you all recomend? I am dumb when it comes to shape of the board as I did not have to worry about that when I bought a board last

What are the “go to“ bindings these days ?

 I’ve got some Union Atlas's that I picked up 2 years ago, and I’ve been really liking them. They’ve felt super responsive/stiff to me, but they are the only bindings I’ve been on in the last 10 years aside from the Contact Pros I spent the previous 6 years on (way too soft).

I also use very stiff boots (Ride Insano), so responsiveness is definitely my first priority. Again, I'm not Arthur Longo out there but I like to go fast and push myself to tackle big/technical features. I’ve got some Union Atlas's that I picked up 2 years ago, and I’ve been really liking them. They’ve felt super responsive/stiff to me, but they are the only bindings I’ve been on in the last 10 years aside from the Contact Pros I spent the previous 6 years on (way too soft)
