It's gonna have dry and you're gonna be able to put these bindings on stiffer boards You've got that really tall supportive highback that stiffer ankle strap and that 45 glass stiffer frame underneath you It does have reflex you are gonna get a little bit of that flex Laterally on this binding to just move around on top of the board as well as just give you truer board flex and better Or feel underfoot

This is Burton's workhorse binding anyone can get into this body according to Burton to be completely honest I agree You can put just about anybody in the cartel and they're gonna have a good time if you've got no clue what bindings to pick Cartels a decent option for the cartel had always been basically my go-to We're finding when I needed to go grab something for a demo and put it on Whatever board that I'd never written before didn't know what I was getting into. I would grab cartels now with this stiffer strap I've actually kind of gravitated a little bit more towards the Mala Vita It just adds that level of stiffness to this binding that Burton really always talked about it had but didn't so It actually is more accurate to what Burton has always been calling the cartel and it definitely puts it into that more stiffer All-mountain charger kind of feel to it and for me, it's just a little bit more than I usually prefer Overall, it's a really solid binding if you're looking for something you're a bigger dude You just like stiffer bindings wherever check out the cartel

I've broken some straps, but the ladders and buckles still operate like day one: butter. The bindings themselves are getting a bit shaggy but still ride very well. I'm convinced that the Cartel is the most dialed in binding in the industry. I got fed up with my burtons because the buckles kept breaking or just losing their capability to ratchet down good. The replacement buckles they sent me (2nd set now in 2 years) just feel so much cheesier than the originals they came with. Idk if all burton quality has gone down hill or if it's just what you get when its "free buckle replacements" but hopefully making the switch to union was a good idea.

 One of the adjustments that a lot of people don't bother to do is changing the rotation of the high backs. If you ride with bigger angles, it can be worth rotating the high backs so they line up with the heel edge of the board and you get the most response possible. To change them, loosen these two screws a little bit until the plastic section can move around, then you can wiggle the high back around until it's aligned with the heel edge of the board, then re-tighten the screws. Cartels are a decent step up from the Solomon District bindings that I now have on my park board

 The ankle strap wraps nicely around my Solomon boots, locks down well and doesn't make any pressure points. The flexible connection means that it folds out of the way easily, so you don't have to fight to get your boot in the binding. Same with the toe cap, it has a grippy rubber feel on the inside and covers the toes of the boot nicely. Neither of them have ever slipped on me, and seeing how they fit I doubt that they really could

 The stiffer flex is very noticeable, but in a good way. I don't ride with any forward lean, but it still has a very direct feel so that the slightest movement of my feet seems to go straight to the board. Combined with a medium stiff flexing board, it makes riding fast, landing in chopped up snow much easier on your legs. I would be able to recommend the cartels as a binding for someone who wants one good pair of bindings that will handle anything they want to ride

I've heard a lot of good about union but I've also heard that union has a community that is very fond of them. Also considering the Salomon Holograms. Anyway I ride with Vans Aura Pro boots and I was wondering what you guys thought would be best.

 It's designed for all my freestyle use for beginning to advanced level riders, anyone can ride it. This is a new piece to the line which I really like because of its asymmetry. It has a medium style flex but at the same time it can be a little bit stiffer because the ankle strap can be in a couple of different adjustments which is kind of cool because you can set the ankle strap a little bit lower and you can set it a little bit higher in case you want more support. As you can see this vice features a really unique style base plate, it's a dual component style system

 The upper section which is kind of this brass copper color is actually aircraft grade aluminum. The lower section is kind of a short glass nylon composite, you'll notice that there's a lot more support on the medial side of the binding than there is on the lateral side. Now the vice is really good at being toe to heel edge like quick but at the same time because of that asymm style upper section and because of the v-rod style base plate shape it actually helps the board to twist in a little bit more natural shape. The v-rod actually lifts up the lateral toe side edge and the medial heel side edge so it actually kind of rolls a little bit better when you're pressing your board or just kind of driving through a turn

I'm speaking from experience I had those bindings they are only good for the beginnerest of beginners. You are playing a dangerous game though in that you need to make sure the aftermarket disc will fit the binding you decide on. If it were me I would just buy a nice quality set of bindings like rome vice on sale and store them after you figure out what size boot you need.

I have a 2009 Burton Indie (friend sold to me for $50, in good condition with good pop and camber, has been a fun first board to use) but the bindings are Burton Freestyle large, and I wear size 10 boots and may downsize to 9.5 for my next pair. I think I need medium bindings, Bc to get my heel fully back in the cup I go way over the heel side edge, with my bindings moved as far toward toeside as the screws allow. 

Are there any bindings I can get that fit the Burton 3D model, but will be able to transfer to a new board eventually? The other main styles are 2x4 and 4x4 right? I’m an early intermediate rider, and I want these to last for a while. 

Appreciate any help!

 The straps certainly don't skimp out either. The ultra-light ankle strap is injected with some pretty plush EVA foam that offers a lot of comfort and support. You can see just how soft and supple this is so they'll really not limit any of that mobility when you're strapped in but they're backed up with this more rigid spine which helps to keep a little more structure and reactivity in the strap. The pivot mount system which you can see here allows you to configure up to 16 different ankle strap positions depending on your riding style

 If you want to enable maximum mobility around the ankles you can position the strap much lower down on the boot or if you're wanting to up the edge to edge response and get a more precision focused feel you can move the straps higher up the cuff of the boot and that's going to give you that more immediate response. The toe strap features the same auxetic pattern that you get in Rome's most premium bindings like the katanas or the black labels and I really believe these are the best fitting and most secure straps in the game right now. They make a great addition to the vice bindings as they allow you to ride with total confidence that that strap is never going to slide loose or slip down during your run.
