 Thanks guys. This is a large, not ideal for me, especially in an insulated jacket because the whole point with an insulated piece, or in my opinion, is you don't have to wear extra stuff underneath when it's cold out. So if I wear the large, unless I cinch everything down, there's a lot of extra space in here. So it's probably not going to be as warm as the medium would

 I can take it on and off with the jacket zipped up, so if you're on the lift, you don't lose any heat. You're gonna be wearing this jacket in a cold environment anyway, it's an extremely warm jacket. So I can take that hood off, if this is already up, and I can ride with this hood probably almost as good as like anything out there that's gonna stay sort of close enough without like popping off. So this is the same same hood as the cyclic jacket, which I'm super familiar with

 So I love that there's no gaiter personally and I love this super wide cuff. If you compare this to other high-end jackets like with Patagonia, they have a very narrow cuff and it's hard to get your gloves on and off. So with this, it's really easy getting your gloves on and off. Love the pockets

 It's really light, so got your big pocket here, double on this side, and then this like, this is kind of the material if you're familiar with like the helium jacket. So you got this, that on the inside, like this stretch, kind of like softshell, not softshell, it's like this stretch fabric. It's really soft and they've got that around the neck. So normally the hoods on, the contoured hoods on Burton jackets, work really well with my helmet, which is this James's helmet

 Normally snowboard with just a shell jacket over layers. This jacket will be excellent for those brutal -20C days on the mountain. Fit is a bit slimmer compared to Burton shells because of the insulation. Great deal from amazon on this high end jacket

 Again, from what I can tell everything is the same, it'll probably be easier for me to show it to you on the blue color than it will be on the black, so as you can see it's just a slight bit longer, about a half inch to three quarters of an inch. You get one zipper, kind of wish there was two sometimes, but you get one zipper, arm length just a slight bit longer which is always welcome because you're wearing gloves or mittens that's nice to have the extra coverage. In the chest I have that little bit extra room for the chest and shoulders which is perfect and in fact there's enough room where I can wear a mid layer underneath it so I've used something that around like 60 gram active insulation from all kinds of brands, not just North Face, in fact I've got a really cool review on North Face Ventrix active insulation piece I'll do up next, it's not out yet as well, but I've really been enjoying that. We've also used it with other brands active insulation and been really really good

 The hood is fantastic, it's helmet compatible, three-way adjustable, two on the side, one on the rear, semi-stiffened, on the inside you get two nice stretchy drop pockets, boom and boom. So as you can tell, they're the same jacket, just the updated name, unless there's some other minute detail that I don't know about, it is thankfully the same jacket as the Freethinker and I really really like it, it's a really attractive jacket, it's done fantastic for my uses which is split boarding, even winter camping and even some around town use because it's just a very attractive looking jacket as you can see here, and again size large fits me really good, just a little bit tight right here and when I say tight it's just me being kind of neurotic about it, it's been totally functional, arm length is great, torso length is great, so if you're in between sizes perhaps size up, hopefully that's helpful and hopefully this whole review was helpful for the sizing and features and of course I'll link to the Freethinker review in case I missed anything here for the Stimson, if you found this helpful some thumbs up would be fantastic, if you want to see more reviews of gear especially before it comes out, subscribe to the channel, it's the best way to find out what's going on, if you have any questions please put them in the comments below and I'll get right back to you, I'm Sean Sewell, owner and director of Stoke for Ingearment.com, until next time, take care.

While I got the sunlight shining on me I'll show you these big big pockets, easy to use, even with gloves on, huge pockets, big enough for your skins absolutely, they're ginormous pockets, and there's even an elastic pocket right here so you can put your beacon in there, I often keep my beacon in my thigh pocket so right here would go my cell phone, it holds it there nicely. You have little elastic leashes on both pockets, makes it great for keys, if you did use your beacon you can put your clip right there for the leash, you get pit sips right there, you get another pocket right here, and yep got a built-in goggle wipe right there which is awesome, nice sizable cuffs, easy to adjust, no hand pockets because more likely than not you will have your backpack on or vest on when you're backcountry skiing or split boarding

The North Face Summit Series FUTURELIGHT Stimson Jacket Review 
The North Face Stimson Jacket comes out Fall 2022 and replaces the Freethinker Jacket.  From what I can after testing them both, the Stimson has the same features and fit as the Freethinker. Which I am happy about. I really like the Freethinker and wound up using it most of the days splitboarding over the 2022 winter and spring.
