Brother MFC-J1205W vs Epson EcoTank ET-2800

The biggest selling point with this pick is that you can print thousands of pages before the ink runs out. It's a plus when you already need to pay for tuition and books. The cartridges are a bit on the expensive side, though, but at least you won’t have to spend money on ink replacements like you would on some other models.

However, when you print multiple copies or a document with multiple pages, the ink (especially black) skips and leave unprinted lines. I tried the alignment and head cleaning maintenance options, but it only made a tiny improvement. It's better than not being able to print at all, but definitely not ideal. I expected better quality when I ordered it

Printed photos look decent, and the accuracy of colors is acceptable for casual use. The connectivity options are satisfactory, including Apple AirPrint and Mopria Print Service, and you can use the refreshed Brother Mobile Connect app to print, scan, copy, and perform maintenance tasks.

Bought this printer so I could start selling art and stickers. I was looking at the Canon Pixmas but decided on the Ecotank instead due to the different ink setups. If you’re on a budget, go for the Pixma, if you can splurge, definitely go for a higher end Ecotank. Was fairly disappointed at the print quality, this model was the cheapest that had the ability to print on cardstock, although I still haven’t figured which setting to use even though I’ve had the machine for almost a month(as of the initial writing of this review)

I am distinctly Unhappy with the wireless printing. I was unable to get the mobile app on my cell connected, which is disappointing. Any documents or photos have to be uploaded to print from my computer. Additionally, each time I needed to print from my laptop, I had to reboot the printer and/or router

I have given up trying to connect ANY Epson printer by Wi-Fi...just use a printer cable and then cross my fingers

This printer offers Ethernet, Wi-Fi, wireless direct, and NFC connectivity, and is fully Android/iOS/Google Cloud Print/AirPrint/tablet/mobile and cloud compatible. It supports direct scanning to: Evernote, DropBox, Google Drive, and OneNote.

The printer produces good output but with the limited selections during printer setup this thing drinks the ink more than I drink beer. My wife wanted a printer at our vacation place to create her projects, one where she could print beyond traditional boundaries but the borderless selection that allows this automatically puts the printer in high quality photo mode and kills your ink cartridges fast. Wouldn't be so bad but Brother only makes the cartridges with a tiny amount of ink and charges a ridiculous price. In the eight days we've had the printer I've already ordered ink in excess of the cost of the printer itself

I had a nice HP priinter,but the last time I replaced the ink cartridges with the larger (more ink) replacements it cost me around$150.00. So I said I would never pay that amount again. I decided to try the new Epson eco-tank,so we'll see if the ink lasts two years like they say in the ad
