 A bit wider than expected, but it's not unbearable, and definitely comes necessary when you most need it.  Great open-top pocket design so you can compartmentalize as you fill your bag up! Love the button closure on the inside, the front strap looks and works great (an issue with the older model)! the front zipper pocket is the ONLY-other storage space. Awesome leather-tag on the zipper gives it a subtle aesthetic addition. the ONLY draw back, in my opinion, is that I wished there to be a side or back extra compartment for quick-access purposes

One thing to keep in mind since you mention carrying musical equipment is the size of your equipment. The PD is one big cavity, while the Allpa's volume is split in half into two sides. A big bulky piece of equipment will probably fit better in the PD.

I've used both and greatly prefer the Allpa, mainly due to comfort. The Travel Backpack's harness is not comfortable at all, especially if you fill it up. The Allpa is much more pleasant to carry. I've taken 3-4 trips with the PD and regretted it each time

EVERGOODS CTB40 Review (Civic Transit Bag) | Durable 40L Backpack For Carry On Travel

 This is just where you'd throw most of your most of your clothing book. I'm not gonna pack it all the way back up, but basically yeah, so you can pack all your things in here and just get them all kind of heaping out of here and then use these compression straps to really kind of dial this down and just kind of contain everything so it doesn't fall out and so that it all fits. One of the nice things I Think about hard sided luggage is that you you can kind of over pack it a bit and then you close it and you really push on it to try to compress that load. and we wanted to do the same thing here

 There's a top handle so that you can handle it this way and just kind of pull it in and out of tight spaces. This curved back panel lets it wrap around the shoulders for comfortable carry. and there is a laptop compartment right here that this gets wider at the top so that the laptop can lie flat but still allow this to curve and be comfortable. When you're stowing it, this can just sort of press flat and go into overhead bin or wherever

 kind of low-profile and clean here. We didn't bother to futz around with a zipper or a stuffy pocket or removable shoulder straps or anything. We put these little keepers on to keep the cords tight. But I think the thing that sets this travel bag apart from a lot of other travel bags actually is the is the carry

 So Well, this is kind of a travel box. These straps undo and it carries very much like a backpack. This is a same harness from other products that we've made and sort of curves up around the shoulders for comfortable fit. This is like really intended for long commutes, maybe international travel but also crosses over for outdoor use

CTB40 Features Video

The real standout of the CTB40’s interior is its massive clamshell compartment. On the downside, though, the whole thing is a little tough to access due to some very sticky zippers on the main compartment—which is definitely the biggest gripe we’ve had while testing it over the past two weeks. We initially thought that stickiness was attributed to the pack’s DWR coating, but it’s clear now that the welts on the exterior of the bag really affect its ability to unzip and zip quickly, especially on the sharp corners where there’s extra fabric reinforcement.

We were glad to see this new finish also keeps the bag from picking up excessive dust or lint, since that was a slight problem when we tested out the EVERGOODS MPL30 last year. It’s definitely a change in the right direction, and we’re glad to see they’re making improvements on their previous models.

As we noted before, our main gripe with the CTB40 is the sticky zippers that currently prevent the bag from zipping and unzipping quickly. Still, it offers a comfortable carry, a streamlined look and a simplified organization system.

The Duraflex strap adjusters work well and feel durable, but even more exciting are the elastic keepers that EVERGOODS has been using (which we’ve seen on some of their other bags, too). These are super simple to operate—all you need to do is roll up the excess strap and then flip the elastic portion over it. We honestly love this feature (it’s the little things, right?).

 It's not the best because these compartments are kind of limited, but it does its main job, which is to go for long distances and transit things well. There's also a laptop compartment on the side here, which I've never actually used for a laptop because I I usually put no, I'm weird. I don't use the laptop pouch for in any of my bags. for laptops, I just keep notebooks in there or books

 Um, mainly. my everyday carry is a Goruck Gr2 40 liter and going from that to how it just opens flat to this was kind of a difficult, uh, transitional period to get used to just because this opens like that clamshell opening. Oh boy. So normally when I'm using backpacks, I'm normally used to the standard zip down from the top and it was interesting to find that this opens up like like you would take luggage onto a plane

 I want to get the black one. I would recommend that immensely just because this was meant for travel design for travel hauling a lot of stuff, which it does perfectly.  Welcome back to John reviews and today we have the Evergoods 40 liter transit bag in this cool space. Gray. Normally they don't have that many color options, but in this one like all you can get is space gray and black and I call this like future gray Like this is such a clean. It's secure in there and it won't One of the coolest things about Cd40 is this flex fold compression flexible compression is a nice feature in this bag. It's sort of a container inside. It lets you kind of over pack the bag a bit and then sort of cinch everything down and compress it in so you can see it a lot inside
