The Tern Link A7 pictured at the end of article is a good example of a folding bike with an unfortunate gearing combination of 36" - 72" gear inches, thanks to that 7-speed freewheel. It's a shame that manufacturers (big, small, good, or bad) continue offering bikes with 6- or 7-speed hubs and saddle the eventual buyers with slow bikes that are just heavy when it comes time to climb hills. And then to make matters worse, many come with a smaller chainring, too. Hence the reputation of folding bikes being slow bikes, or bikes that need more pedalling
