 Now This bike has a 52 chainring in the front and uses a thirteen and a sixteen in the back. Now That combination of gearing gives you an even spacing from 33 to 99 gear inches. If You do want to get a bike that goes ultra-fast You can take the six speed and put a 54 tooth chainring on the front that will raise the gearing by 8% and give you a much faster high gear. and you still have a pretty decent gear for climbing hills

. So You want to think of this as if you have a three speed bike 1-2-3, with a low setting and high setting on each gear. So That is how you get from one to six as you go. You Have to switch back and forth, now that took me about two weeks to get used it

4. I'd really appreciate it if it's fast. If you knkw of any modifications to make it fast, I'd love that. 

1. It needs to be a foldable bike.  I am switching between the suburbs and Philly and I need something I can take onto public transportation. 

 One of the reasons I need a bike is for it to be affordable. Throwing down 1000 dollars isn't quite something I have now. 

The only thing I would've wanted to be different with the Vitesse is a longer stem, since I'm on the tall side and prefer to sit upright. In general I prefer the urban design and looks over the sport-driven designs. That being said, of course I prefer to focus on the important stuff as I mentioned, like decent build quality and decent value. 

* Buy a Mariner D8 (best contemporary value model so it seems) online for a ridiculous price due to shipping costs

Unfortunately, not many Dahon dealers in my small and stupid country and no second hand sellers for proper Dahon models. Local stores have sh!t models like HIT and SUV which feel nothing like my good old Vitesse. Folding mechanism feels clunky, hinges feel weird and hard to turn, shifter feels cheap, gears sound awful. Ugly

 This is going to make for easy and smooth shifting between your gears. That's important because you want as little delay as possible when changing gears. Both of our pedals are going to be able to fold up just by pulling in on that inside brings it up. You're going to conserve about four to five inches per pedal when folding it up

 We're going to have brakes on both sides for the front and the rear. It's going to have some great stopping power like I said even in wet conditions. And then on the right side you are going to have the Shimano trigger shifter. It is going to have an optical readout to let you know which gear you're in and then with your index finger and thumb you can change gears

 Everything is all the Horn branded and it writes smooth out of the box, it folds beautifully and not just that, it comes with Tashwabi Citizen tires. So that's really neat. If you have been riding for as much as I have, you would know that tires play a very very big role in both comfort, safety as well as traction. But other than that, I am really impressed with the Marina D8

The wide choice of compatible 20-inch tires and use of non-proprietary parts for brakes and gears should facilitate maintenance at home as well as abroad. This bicycle should give many seasons of good service and keep its resale value

The  Best 20” Folding Bike - Dahon Mariner D8 Review

 It rides very well, seems quite sturdy. Has plenty of gears and shifts excellent. I'm 55 years old, 5'9" and 185 and it fits me well. The included seat was quite uncomfortable, but then I expected that, and replaced it with my comfy one

 We made it back home. We are going to fold the Dejan Mariner right here and then we're going to put it with the rest of the folding bikes and see how it compares in size. Alright, first order of business, obviously, is to fold the pedals. So, what we do is we'll fold the pedals

 I'm going to know right off the bat if there's any quality issues with the frame and that's what I'm kind of looking at right now. I want to see if the bike is going to hold up under the abuses of commuting back and forth to work. We'll see how it holds up so far. Liking it

 Now, what that's going to do is it's going to allow the handlebars when folded to clear the bottom of the fork here. Now, we're going to hit the lever and open the steering stem latch and fold down the handlebars and as you can see, the handlebars clear the bottom axle. They clear the bottom of the fork. Now, last but not least, we lift open the catch and we open the frame latch and we fold the bike in half

 We'll see how it holds up so far. Liking it. So far, not that bad. So, hopefully everything continues to go well with that bike and hopefully it exceeds my expectations
