 It turns out that the motor has an overheat cutout that shuts down. After unplugging and waiting and hour, it works again. None of this obviates the need for a stronger motor. And my first juicer failed completely

 The machine is very easy to clean. All of the pieces are easy to remove and you just rinse them under the faucet. It takes a little more than a minute to clean the machine - it's amazingly well designed. 5

 It's very quick. It will juice two orange halves (a whole orange) in about 5-7 seconds. 2. Because the center of the juicer is powered and rotates, it takes very little effort to operate

 I'd also ask for a way to attach the receiving container so it can't slip away. I'd ask for it somehow to take up less storage space. I'd ask it to grind the pump a bit so as to get more in the juice. OK, while I'm at it, I'd ask for it to cut the fruit and put it on the reamer for me, then take out the garbage

 (A third hand would help.) It may leave a bit of pulp in the rind, but very little juice gets left. The machine stays in place on the counter.  If I were looking for perfection, I'd ask for a larger reamer for grapefruit

 I'd ask it to grind the pump a bit so as to get more in the juice. OK, while I'm at it, I'd ask for it to cut the fruit and put it on the reamer for me, then take out the garbage. ;-)  I occasionally see the question of whether it can juice anything but citrus. No, it can't

I have two other citrus juicers, including one with a handle, and a Cusinart I just got which has no handle. The Breville costs way more than the Cuisinar ($24)t, and probably doesn't juice much better than the Big Boss ($116), but the Breville feels so much better to operate, a superior experience, intangible advantages, like an expensive sports car. I'll keep the Big Boss as an emergency back-up, but the Cuisinart, no handle, is strictly for those who don't care about giving their palm an uncomfortable work-out, or who think it's not worth the dough to get a handle juicer.

A superior juicing experience

I had another citrus juicer that required I press down hard while the juicer spun around. I make a pitcher of juice at a time (we have a lot of citrus trees) and after a while my wrists and hands would ache. I don't have arthritis, it just required consistent, long-held pressure to extract the juice. Plus, it was noisy - couldn't listen to music or watch tv while juicing

 It got to where I didn't want to make juice. I had finally had it and went looking for another juicer and found this Breville model. Wow! What a difference. It's very quiet and FAST

 Wow! What a difference. It's very quiet and FAST. Whoosh, Whoosh, and the orange, grapefruit, lime is DONE! It's actually FUN! The handle makes juicing a very comfortable process and there's something so satisfying about watching the juice pour out of the little spout. The strainer and juice-catcher below it are much larger than my previous model so I don't have to flush it out as often - so the overall time it takes to juice 20 oranges has gone way down

 I purchased the Omega J8005 juicer which cost $258.00, which is substantially more than the Koolatron. Here are the yields I received from the Omega: 3 medium nectarines yielded 12ozs, 2 medium apples yielded 8ozs, 8 kale leaves yielded 6 1/2ozs, and 30 spinach leaves yielded 2 1/2ozs.  A friend got sick and wanted to start juicing for health reasons

Great Juicer for the price!

 Washed everything, put it together (which is easy, logical), washed beets & carrots, peeled beets & cut off tops of both. Very fresh, firm smaller veggies (about 1" size). Put it together PROPERLY, top snapped into place on both sides. Turned it on & pressed slowly for maximum juice

 All veggies were gone & juice continued to slowly drip out into glass, but more was running down the sides then in the cup. Only juiced basically one normal size carrot & beet & it worked as bad as the 2 cheaper juicers I've tried & given away as they weren't good enough for juicing everyday as I want to do. I won't be trying this one again. I bought stainless steel thinking it would be better quality

Doesn't juice beets or carrots for squat

 Even without the brush, the cleanup is relatively easy. Especially if you think to put a plastic shopping bag in the pulp catcher. The suction cups on the bottom are good and help to keep it from vibrating all over the place. I'm trying not to be all negative

 It was reasonably moist considering the cost of the juicer. I'd have expected better from a more expensive unit. Even without the brush, the cleanup is relatively easy. Especially if you think to put a plastic shopping bag in the pulp catcher

Do not buy this juicer

 Unless you are a very light fruit, not very often, juice maker, this is not the machine for you.

 Just outside their fantastic 90-day warranty and of course, outside the 30-day Amazon warranty. Koolatron has NO warranty info on their website directly. Terribly disappointed in paying $90 to have the item last less than 4 months. Since it was a gift to our son, we feel even worse because he is out and so are we
