I really looked at a lot of speakers for computers - it was between these and the Creative ones but the Creative ones had some auto-off feature causing missed notification sounds - so I got these. So I am generally happy with the way they LOOK - important because my home office is in the corner of my living room and they look nice on the ladder bookshelves on each side of my desk - due to the cabinet design. I like the prominence of the Bose logo, makes them acceptable looking for the setting of within a refined living room.
