 Looks like the next test for me will be Dewalt's 20V Max system. I really like the way this drill feels, its weight, the useful light placement, the overall feel. Sorry, Bosch: great design, excellent ergonomics, but the chuck? 'Fraid not, boys.  Three stars for this drills great design and overall execution, but if the chuck isn't 'true', it's really not worth one star for true value as a craftsman's drill/driver

Hoped for Greatness, However...

 As an all-around drill, the power/weight/features are a very good compromise. Others have said that this isn't a "heavy-duty" cordless drill; true, but I didn't want the size and weight of a cordless beast. I have other (corded) drills (including hammer drills)for the heavy work. This Bosch is handy, powerful, and not tiring to use in the long-run

Drill is compact and comfortable in your hand

 In my mind, this has been a good thing, because there was room to put a small drill index, a quick-release chuck, and a couple of other items inside the case. That makes a grab-and-go repair easier.

Solid Product.  So far, I'm more than satisfied.

 The only negative that I have is that I think they are a bit over priced, but if you have the last drill you will ever buy, the cost per year evens out. The torque, etc all seem good the batteries load easily, they charge fine compared with Craftsman and I think they provide a better functioning drill than Craftsman. I'm considering some more Bosch tools even though I have been a lifelong user of Craftsman.

 The only gripe I have is that the batteries are only 2 amp hr. I think all power tools should come with at least 3 to 5 amp hr batteries. I'll edit this post when I use the drill a little longer, to gauge the time one gets out of a fully charged battery. I like the feel of this drill, and could see myself using this on more strenuous construction products

The tool was a good price and it shipped quickly. After replacing some fence slats and hanging a few pictures the batteries stopped charging the drill.  I called DeWalt within a year of the purchase date and after a 10-15 minute call with their customer service team, a replacement drill has been issued to me. I believe my device was defective, and while that can be inconvenient-the ease and simplicity of getting is replaced has me writing a positive review 10 months after purchase

 The new light that shines up from below is a huge improvement. I have other drills that are basically a bunch of beasts. This one is better for lighter work. Add to that that I rarely hit its limits and I'm even happier with the drill

I bought this drill for small jobs around the house. I don't know that it would be useful for heavy work where a 20V drill would be better. But for fixing a door, rehanging a cupboard door, drilling small diameter holes, and generally fussing around the house, it's great. For that kind of work, the smallness is a plus
