Black & Decker CJ625 Citrus Juicer vs Breville Citrus Press

PROS: Inexpensive, easy to clean up, juice containing area detaches and can go into the refrigerator. MISC: Should add to box or specification notes that the juicer can hold 32oz - 1000ML of juice.

None of this obviates the need for a stronger motor. And my first juicer failed completely. Who know how long the current edition will last?

I bought this model juicer as the previous model that I had from Black and Decker for about 6 years chipped a plastic piece that held the juicer section in place. This model is similar with some improvements in the overall design however it is WAY LOUDER than the previous model. I'm not sure if mine is defective or not but it produces quality juice.

I have two other citrus juicers, including one with a handle, and a Cusinart I just got which has no handle. The Breville costs way more than the Cuisinar ($24)t, and probably doesn't juice much better than the Big Boss ($116), but the Breville feels so much better to operate, a superior experience, intangible advantages, like an expensive sports car. I'll keep the Big Boss as an emergency back-up, but the Cuisinart, no handle, is strictly for those who don't care about giving their palm an uncomfortable work-out, or who think it's not worth the dough to get a handle juicer.

I bought this to make fresh lemonade. I love it. What a time saver- power level is great for home use. It has two different sizes making great for lemons, limes and small oranges

Wow! What a difference. It's very quiet and FAST. Whoosh, Whoosh, and the orange, grapefruit, lime is DONE! It's actually FUN! The handle makes juicing a very comfortable process and there's something so satisfying about watching the juice pour out of the little spout. The strainer and juice-catcher below it are much larger than my previous model so I don't have to flush it out as often - so the overall time it takes to juice 20 oranges has gone way down

For example: The plastic construction is very flimsy, the crack for the cord wrap is a heaven for collecting juice particles, hence a big cleaning problem. There is not enough space for the cord to wrap completely, Instead, at the end, there is an attempt to house the plug end of the cord into the bottom and this does not work. To me, there was little, if any, testing of this product before it was released to the public. It does have one thing going for it, it is indeed priced well!

The machine is very easy to clean. All of the pieces are easy to remove and you just rinse them under the faucet. It takes a little more than a minute to clean the machine - it's amazingly well designed. 5

" Also, if you leave the strainer a little open to let pulp in, smaller seeds from the fruit can slip through. Not much you can really do except be aware of that and maybe try to fish the seeds out with a spoon or something. Cleaning was a breeze, and at the risk of sounding like I'm bragging compared to other users who spoke about cleaning, I didn't have any difficulty separating the strainer pieces. The trick is to push in the tabs on the bottom side and carefully pry it apart

I'd also ask for a way to attach the receiving container so it can't slip away. I'd ask for it somehow to take up less storage space. I'd ask it to grind the pump a bit so as to get more in the juice. OK, while I'm at it, I'd ask for it to cut the fruit and put it on the reamer for me, then take out the garbage

I owned a prior iteration that was noisy but did the job, a little noisy, but a 3.5 star. This model, CJ630 was so noisy B&D customer service after hearing it on the phone, said return it. Replaced with the same model [hope springs eternal] and it, too, will be returned; it is not as bad as the first but still unacceptably noisy

We also love that the reamer has a bar on the bottom, extracting the most juice from the collected pulp in the strainer. We found the drip spout to have the best design of all the models with that feature. While it only has one screen to control the pulp, the flavor and texture of the juice scored highly during our side-by-side taste test. It also produced the highest yield of all the tested models, getting the most juice per pound of citrus
