It's just the last 1/2 cup of water that is hard to get out of the carafe and into the reservoir. For my purposes, it is a good coffee maker because I never use the delayed brew button on any coffee maker. It makes a good tasting coffee, due to it's vortex technology. I do believe that makes a difference

If your mornings are cold, pour the coffee over your cup and don't make contact with cold ceramic. I also have granite counter tops, so I would recommend putting a pot holder on your counter before placing your carafe down onto it if you don't plan on putting it back into the pot. The only complaint is a slow brew time. Easy to set up and use. Very Very hot coffee. The vortex technology though makes it very slow to produce a full pot of coffee

This is not a machine per se, it is a method that has been tested for a bunch of years, and it really works. The downside is if you are in a hurry or you simply don't have time in the morning, this will not work for you as you have to have a few minutes and, most important, some patience.
