 So it comes with a 7-plus-1 tube extension right here, and then if you're running three-inch shells, it's going to get 6-plus-1, so amazing capacity for barrel length. I mean, it utilizes everything perfectly right to the end. Don't worry, this shotgun is checked clear about five times before making this video. Also right up the front, it's got a tube extension clamp that has a QD slot built in and M-lock slots built in on the side

 It also has a rubberized grip with some nice texturing, it's incredibly ergonomic and the length of pull in the shotgun stock is actually fairly short, thank goodness. I'm so frustrated with grabbing a shotgun, I'm 5'8", and having the length of pull just a little bit too long and being slightly uncomfortable and then only having options to extend it. In the box you do have different options to extend the stock length and you can get the fixed stock version or this pistol grip stock version, it also has a cheek riser and then it has a spot for sling attachments on either side so that's really convenient. You can also attach that sling swivel down there and it's got a nice rubberized butt stock that absorbs recoil but is not overly spongy

 So, let's start from the front and work our way to the back, and right out of the box, this comes with a tube extension and an 18.5-inch barrel, which is the minimum legal length that most companies are putting on a shotgun. I believe you can go back to about 18 inches, but 18.5 seems to be the standard, industry standard for those interesting ATF tape measures there, so that is great right out of the box

 Now I'm not a big fan of how the Magpul stock works but it should be noted at how functional they are. So with your typical shotgun socks not pistol grip socks but say if we take a look at this Spinelli M2 stock right there the angles a little bit more severe on this Magpul stock and the reason for that especially when you start getting into more complex positions kneeling going in prone. On those more traditional socks you have a tendency to nail yourself in the face with your thumb especially for my guys who have normal man-sized hands. So with this angle that doesn't happen

 We get over to the sights. Now sights in my mind are very important on a shotgun because there's a pretty high probability that you'll end up using them due to the fact that on a shotgun sights just make a lot of sense. Now we of course had metal wings protecting the front sight, it's very visible, very easy to see. Now with that being said we'll do what we always do and we'll ghost trigger together

 Now it's harder to say whether this is a superior shotgun because the Spinelli M4 has been through so much testing but I think that we're going to see a lot more in terms of both support and probably military adoption when it comes to the 1301 in the very near future. So you really have to give it up to them for putting together a really good combat shotgun which brings us right into the con which is when it comes to the shotgun the only two things that really come to mind are one going to be the accessories there just really isn't a lot out there and then two it's going to be that recoil. It's a little bit more stout than the Spinelli M4 so which shotgun is correct for you? I can't answer that for you. You're gonna have to get out there you have to try both out but the fact of the matter is that no matter which shotgun you choose you're going to suck equally of both because you haven't been training

 It weighs a mere 6.4 pounds, thanks in no small part to its aluminum receiver. This is a full 2 pounds lighter than the Benelli M4. On top of that, the 1301 has a 1350 MSRP, while the M4 will set you back 1900 bucks

 So move that thumb over, get the pistol grip stock. Other than what else I've mentioned in this video, I guess the only other negative that bothered me about the 1301 is the fact that it used a plastic rear sight. Although it's not cheap plastic, and I don't know what is cheap plastic and I don't know what is expensive plastic, but whatever plastic this was, it was the expensive plastic and not the cheap plastic, if that makes sense. But it did shake loose after the first abusive day on the range

Mossberg 590 is what you need, rock solid reliability and decent price. I can’t recommend a Benelli m4 because they’re expensive and if you ever have to use that gun you gotta turn it in.

I’ve got the three handguns I’ve always wanted but now looking for a shotgun recommendation for home defense. I would think a 12 gauge, but I’m open to other gauges. 

Here’s the scenario: we have a two story home with all the bedrooms in the second floor. Our first story is open with formal living, formal dining, den and kitchen. From the second floor we can see the den at the open portion of the stairs and into the entry, formal living and den from the top of the stairs.  Our house is fully brick exterior. 

What I’m looking for is recommendations for gauge and brand.  Like I said this is for home defense.

Shotgun brand recommendation

 This is seven and one quarter pounds. The overall length of this shotgun is 41 inches and the pull length on the shotgun is 14 inches. The action does feature dual extractor claws on the left and right side and you do have an ambidextrous safety so this is great for the lefties. When the military was testing this shotgun it passed everything

 This one being a 20 inch barrel that means that the capacity is 8 plus 1, the 18.5 inch barrel has a capacity of 6 plus 1.
