 Spyderco have just have that there's something special about this particular knife above and beyond. Maybe some of the other ones - and I don't know for sure you know I'm not that not really into that much, but I trust Brian there's something about it. You know. Sometimes they just get things right, and things are just done perfectly well or close enough to perfect that they they just give you the fizz and you just enjoy them right

Why I'm Switching My Pocket Knife

Benchmade 940 in S90V and carbon fiber. My dad's gift to me for getting through highschool. Take that that thing everywhere, only had to sharpen it once. 

What is your absolute favorite knife.? You love it with both your heart and soul.

TLDR: It feels great, I LOVE the weight and looks of carbon fiber but doesn't seem like its a good value.  I'm not a knife enthusiast or a collector, but I wanted something I could carry and forget its in my pocket for everyday tasks. I like premium products like carbon fiber and the idea behind S90v being a steel that keeps its "working edge" for longer periods of time. Overall I can't say i'm crazy about the product for the price

  - Finish of the blade has such a machined look with thin parallel lines vertically across the entire blade. I don't know if that intended but for cost of the blade it just doesn't look like a premium product.  - The blade when closed it is not centered, and I think it may touch the inside of the carbon fiber on the clip side as the deployment in my right hand is slower then when I deploy it in my left hand and i'm right handed. The bevel on the knife is larger on the face then it is on the back side, this maybe intended i'm not sure but I can image this causing some issues while sharpening the blade

I wanted to love this knife.

 This is no big deal because benchmade stands by their products, but now I have to send it back because I paid too much for these issues to exist. Really do love the fit and finish of the carbon fiber scales though. The light weight of such a nice sized knife is incredible as well. It feels like I am carrying my much smaller BM Sequel

. Benchmade replaced the blade on my knife after a few weeks. It is excellent now. Super sharp and centered

Quality control issues, but knife is good overall.

 Hope this helps ease another’s frustration. My ordeal nearly gave me a stroke before figuring it out.

 Benchmade recommended to only purchase knifes from Authorized dealers/sellers. Amazon is neither a authorized retailer or dealer. As I’ve said confidently many times I feel strongly Amazon would never intentionally sale a fake item. A seller possibly would

 The lady from Benchmade also said with them not in hand she couldn’t say for 100% either way. The very first benchmade rep I contacted made me question the possibility of a counterfeit cause Amazon is not a authorized seller.  For the size, this is easily the lightest knife I've ever encountered. Ultra-lightweight, travels well, pocket clip allows for a reasonably deep pocket carry, and blade length is legal in my state. It looks and feels pretty durable, the open back design makes it a breeze to clean, and it's classy enough that this knife straddles the "gentleman's knife" category. Those who are knowledgable about knives and/or read on any of the knife forums will understand what I mean when I say that this is a perfectly good choice for a "grail knife

 The blade has a beautiful stonewashed finish that looks great with the carbon fiber - better IMO than a regular stainless finish would look, and it showcases the fine grain of the (very carbide-heavy) steel along the edges.  This blade is everything that I look for in an EDC. For the size, this is easily the lightest knife I've ever encountered.  I'll post a follow-up after I've sharpened the S90V blade freehand... from what I've read, it's a PITA to sharpen

 The AXIS-lock system is buttery smooth after working it in a bit, and the blade has a rock solid lock-up. The carbon fiber scales are almost holographic, in that they change appearance depending on your viewing angle - very cool! The blade is S90V, which should take on a keenness, and hold an edge, as good as (or better than) anything else out there. The blade has a beautiful stonewashed finish that looks great with the carbon fiber - better IMO than a regular stainless finish would look, and it showcases the fine grain of the (very carbide-heavy) steel along the edges.  This blade is everything that I look for in an EDC

"  My one gripe follows: This knife comes in a standard Benchmade blue box, upon which is printed "Handle with care. Benchmade knives are packaged extremely sharp." This was not the case for me, as the knife arrived with an edge somewhere between a butter knife and an old Buck 110 that I haven't sharpened in a couple years. I've read that this is a common complaint with Benchmade knives, so I don't feel that I got a "bad one" or anything

 So you need to make sure that you want a small knife, otherwise go with the typhoon Evo, which is much close at a normal Brian, sighs. Next thing, the availability of these guys is a little bit poor um. What happens here is that he does these runs and the problem is well at least my problem. Then I don't know whether it's the problem, but it is a problem

 Finally, on the good side, this is really well made. This is made um, so this is Brian. That, though, is a guy based out of Jersey and he does a whole find a custom knives, but he also does these, which are a collaboration with Reyat knives, which is one of the very best knife making companies in the world and especially if they got make Rhinestone and things like that, they're damn near want one of these, certainly in China um and they are, they do amazing work. This is magnificently made, there's nothing

 The pre-order approach is very welcome and way better than what a lot of folks at doing and it's 300 bucks. But honestly that ends up feeling like a value given everything I've talked about here things, though, on the great side, the action on this knife is spectacular. Brian has a very unusual detent system, and if you watch my disassembly you'll get a closer look of it, but you'll see that there on most knives got me at most knives. What'S a good knife with it is most here we go on

 No, it's beautifully done so I appreciate that very, very much and by the way this looks proprietary. This is talks nice. So it's just a beautifully made knife, and I appreciate that very much so to me all that's! The good is that it's beautifully made nice blade. Great clip good details, good ergonomics, a nice size for an office focused EDC

The first was the Sharp By Design Micro Evo Typhoon. I always thought I might like this one but had never handled any SBD's. The minute I got it and flipped I fell in love and it is still one of my favourite knives.

I’ve been spoiling myself with stupidly expensive knives in the past year. I tried a sebenza 21 because everyone talked about how amazing it was, and for the price I wanted to hate it. But I tried it, and absolutely fell in love. So much so that I also bought an umnumzaan and inkosi and rotate through all of them. I’m looking to add new knives to the collection like always, and I’m wondering what knives you guys have wanted to hate but fell in love with?

What’s a knife you didn’t expect to fall in love with?

 I mean this is. I cannot make this knife fail to flip. It is a great detent. It is unusual

 This is a stellar knife. This is a production knife that is just as good as most custom knives out there and they did Brian's production line just keeps getting better and better, and I will just keep buying and buying them. Even if they're, not the my dates. They'Re gon na be impressive pieces, and I really desperately hope that this is also a sign of what's to come from Reyat, because if they can keep this standard of quality with their future work, oh my god, am i excited for that brand

 Is this a pocket back? I mean it's the point though. Well look I mean you can't even frickin touch the it is like half an inch under the blade when you eat it anyways. I digress. So to me

 It has a great clip, a great Blade II, low, keel and you'd hold three different handle and blade options and the price on it is pretty solid to me on the great side here, the technically that this is just excellent look um. I was just giving Reyat some crap, but at the end of the day they can make a really nice knife. Everything on this he's done. As far as I'm concerned perfectly, the detent is amazing

 Closing action is there's no guillotine effect, just like gliding smooth as long as you as soon as you disengage. The lock bar blades wants to shut down shut close, but you're gon na need a little bit of a wiggle to get it in the closed position. So really really good and controlled. Closing action, um also uh detent strength - is on the medium strong side, so no uh risk whatsoever for unintentional deployment and uh you're gon na have a very nice also magnetic effect with the detent suction

 I wanted to show you, maybe uh just uh just another couple here, because we have them in the house. This is the um alliance, design mini slim pickings and also we can show you this beautiful skiff knives drifter. So you have an idea of the overall size of this uh typhoon so uh. This is a nice one, guys designed by brian adult made by react 375 dollars more or less made in china

 This guy makes nice and clacky beautiful it's a little bit on the loud side. When you open it, but it's solid, it's clean it's kind of dry. I like it really really cool. Also what it's actually really cool is the weight, because it's not that much

 Even if there's no internal skeletonization, this guy is gon na weight in at 4.04 ounces, which is pretty good for a 3.5 3.6 inch long blade so very, very nicely done zero hot spots in the blade in the handle
