 Hello! Here I have a mini barrage from Benchmade. It's number is 585. This knife was sent to

 an access lock. Here's a thumb stud. You can see it is locked in place. It will not deploy.

 So this will go towards the jimping. Press down and pull. So it is very close to the jimping

 and it will open. I am very unfamiliar with Benchmade's Valox material. They also offer

 this in a G10. And this feels like a G10. But since I have no experience with the Valox,

 there is no way I can tell you what the huge difference is. So ambidextrous

 sort of. Whoa! Super nice. Good edge. Good point. There's a clip on this. Very well

 So from my limited research, I found this to be about $155 as the base from Benchmade.com.

 And they don't necessarily make this exact grind anymore, but they do still sell this and it goes

 up from $155. You want a very reliable quality knife. This is high recommendation. Thank you

Excellent Knife - Just Wish The Clip Was Stronger

 That way, it does not ever fall open on its own. I carry my barrage in my pocket often and usually don't lock the blade shut with the switch on the knife, but it's probably a good practice to do. I've never had a problem though.  I'm not a huge fan of the plasticy scales (sides of the handle) that come with the knife, but I'd much rather have a stellar blade and locking mechanism than worry about the feel of the handles

 The axis locking mechanism is superb and holds the blade firmly in place with very little wiggle. With a pull on the release mechanism the blade is easy to close, and the way the release is positioned, it ensures your fingers are away from the blade as it's closing. But be careful as with any good knife -- it is sharp!!  The axis-assist open works very reliably and swiftly. As you use the thumb stud to push the blade out of the knife, it crosses a threshold (of about a centimeter open) where the knife opens on its own and locks into place

Great pocket knife

 It has a hollow plastic design that no doubt was to save weight due to the steel liners inside. Other reviews have pointed out that you get a cheap feeling due to this. I agree thus 4 stars instead of 5. I would have liked a more rubberized solid grip even at the expense of more weight! Put this into the Can't Get Everything You Want bucket

 Despite the metal plates that sit on either side of the blade and make up the main structure of the handle being the same thickness and distance apart, the Elementum’s blade is about 0.5mm thicker at the point that it interfaces with the lock. This means that the lock applies more pressure to the blade, making it feel a bit more sluggish when opening. This also explains why the lock feels more difficult to open, as you have to push it open further in order to clear the blade

 The handle is just long enough so that all 4 of my fingers can securely grip it without a bunch of excess at the end. The contour of the handle is ergonomically perfect for me, as I much prefer one continuous contour over individual notches for the first and second fingers like on the Praxis. The jimping on the spine of the knife is perfect in its placement, length, and aggressiveness. It looks elegant while still providing ample grip right where my thumb naturally rests

Blade edge - The blade was not sharpened to 15 degrees by the factory. When I measured it with my sharpening system that allows me to sharpen to a specific angle, it measured at almost 25 degrees. Now the edge was still pretty sharp and can retain its sharpness better at a higher angle, but the promise of a 15 degree edge means that CIVIVI should be sending you a wicked sharp knife

The Perfect Size EDC With Some Minor Annoyances

Overall if i were you i’d start with a Civivi Elementum basic D2 model for $50 and see how you like a solid EDC knife. That’s a knife that could easily last you the rest of your life and could even be passed down to your kids with proper care and maintenance. If your budget is a bit bigger i’d look into the WE Kitefin, very similar knife with some upgrades.

Hey, does anyone know how to fix a liner lock that slipped to the other side of the blade while the knife was open? I can't figure out how to do it. It's no big loss, just a brand of chineseum knife that is decent enough to be worth it's $7. 

Also, I have a feeling I already know, but more well established knives like We, CRKT and Civivi... you can trust their materials, right? Would you? Do you guys find those brands to be reliable? I think they probably are legit, just do not want to buy and be disappointed later with some fake D2. Looking for my first "real" nice assisted folder.

 Basically what this means is the knife blade has great quality and can VERY EASILY be sharpened after it starts getting dual. Out of the box it was a perfect sharpness and cut paper very easily. The only feature of the knife I don’t love is the slot for the lanyard. It seemed unnecessary are I think it looks slightly less appealing with it not to mention you could have still added a lanyard around the post without there being a slot for it but nonetheless, this is the best pocketknife for the price on the market

 For those that may have more experience in the market, I am a mechanical engineer and I couldn’t possibly back this knife any more than I do.  This is the best blade of any knife I have ever seen until $75. This blade was heat treated perfectly and the company used hollow ground. This is the best ground for a pocket knife hands down

Best Pocket Knife For The Price

First off I have to say I'm by no means a professional, I'm just a very average and poor knife enthusiast. I've never been able to talk myself into spending hundreds on a single knife. Usually just get some beaters from my local flea market and call it a day ($8-$14). Even a $25 knife I recently picked up I returned, didn't impress me much, box was beaten to heck and looked like any other cheap knife

However the presentation, better materials, and knife I purchased from Civivi I was really impressed with. Just for starters, the box itself was made up of a tougher material and didn't get damaged in shipping, though it was shipped the exact same way as the knife I previously mentioned

Impressed, didn't think there'd be much of a difference between $25 and $50 knives.

Micarta has always looked cheap to me with the way it leaves frays and tiny chips(especially on edges) in the handle, no thanks. The micarta on the Elementum tanto has a semi polish finish to it, so it's not that grippy.
