 Again, if you want to use this knife as a cutting tool or implement which it's meant to be, it will work perfectly for you, it's not just for flipping. You know it's really. It'S a meant to be used, as I mentioned before, the handles are titanium. They'Re cut from a single billet, as you can see here, they're seamless, they're, not pieced together, it's just one solid piece of titanium for each handle, which is cut out very nice, obviously extremely strong

 Now, what a latch gate does is it's a lot? It doesn't allow me get the blade over here. It doesn't allow the latch to come in contact with the blade at any point, while you're flipping and open to open or close it. Okay, obviously, so that you don't have any damage on your blade edge or on your latch. If you see a lot of older, bowel, salons or cheeseball songs, though sometimes they'll lack this very simple piece across that's known as a latch gate

 It had a spear point blade and a d2 blade steel for it, so there are tons and tons of different variations on these knives. It'S just currently in production. The bench amount of 42 or excuse me, the bench manof 42 - is still in production. So that's why I always talk about it and it's most commonly seen, but yeah there's tons of variants on this knife

 This does have screw construction as opposed to pins, but, as I mention in other videos, if you have quality screws like they use here, tempered stainless steel, it's not an issue they're not going to strip out on you, they're not going to like a strip when you Um, you know try to turn them they're their quality screws and with a little bit of Loctite, to keep them in place. You know it's perfect, it's very, very functional. This has a weehawk style blade. That is what this style is referred to or called it has

Knife Review : Benchmade model 42 Balisong (BM42)

 The knife has a great blade shape and I believe it will hold a fine edge. The assist mechanism isn't quite 'auto' knife, but it is pretty quick. The knife fits my hand well and I wear large to extra large gloves depending on what type I am using. It isn't a tiny hard to hold nor is it a big sheeple frightening blade

 That's up there with things that are as grill worthy as the Monarch Orca and as the other ballast songs I said previously. So does this mean it's overrated? I wanted to make sure instead of just, you know, spending $650 on a knife that I'm just going to throw away. The 42's handles are casted out of titanium, channel constructed, and of course have the 42 style hole pattern. This is the T-latch version which is much more desirable due to having an almost even weight distribution in between the handles

 I'm very glad we got that feature on more modern knives because I would have died if we didn't have that at all. This is the 42's latch. Since this is the T-latch version this just sits freely and swings freely in between the handles and the pivot that is press fit inside of the handle itself. Yes I said press fit

These pivots don't come out just by unscrewing the screw and trying to push hard. If you have a hammer or are handy with a punch you can probably get these out pretty easily

 If you want a collector's piece and to flip something that is extremely classic, it uses only a washer system and a steel washer system at that which is horrible, which leads to really bad tolerances. I have upgraded um, not lead bronze washers, but nonetheless the tolerances are horrible and yeah. I'M sorry to if this is your favorite knife ever. I am sorry, but it is not my favorite knife ever

 You got bad play and washers and an outdated blade. Steel, so you're, but it's still bench benchmade, so you can always send this in for a new blade or a re-sharpening. So that's your seven out of ten, and that gives you a full total score of 30 out of 40., which is a pretty damn good score

Benchmade 42 Review (Overpriced Classic)

 Is that and that's like ridiculously like you're, like there's like no play on this knife, because it's a bench made I saw blade rub, though, that blade rub spine is still in crowned. I didn't get that modded. I did have this sanded down and given a satin finish, and then I had to anodized, then these counter sunk holes right here, the previous owner, just complete. I think he tried to anodize it himself and just completely [ __ ], the [ __ ] out of snuff, regardless my mod did a really good job on it

 But I way prefer the ring variant as opposed to the young t variant D latches. In my experience or a lot thinner, ringers have a little more beef on the handles they're a little more thick. That'S a two season! Four for you, grammar nazis out there. It is tank pen, the only 4x, that I know that has a Zen pen is a 41 m, see it has a kukri style blade now with all bench, maids you're going to have play my play right now

 One of the like lead, bladesmiths at Pacific Coast cutlery and then I believe, later benchmade, I'm not really too big on. My history basically invented this. I'M not sure and syphilis color is started by less Babli and he you know kind of made Bella phones what they are bench main actually benchmade became so synonymous with butterfly knives and ballast. On that the Bali song word, I guess is if you can see right there, it's copyrighted or trademarked or whatever, but they like basically literally - have ownership on ballast on Pacific Coast
