 I was tempted to send it back, but for the amount of time it would take to send it back and then get something new delivered my daughter wouldn't be able to ride her bike and, frankly, her happiness is more important than $37...

 Bought this for the added protection of the MiPS feature but the shell on the helmet is simply cheap plastic stuck on. Overall the helmet will work fine, but it does feel cheaply made and came with a sticker on it that said the price was $12.99, which is definitely NOT the $49.99 I paid for it, so that's pretty disappointing to say the least

 However, I was disappointed with the thin plastic skin covering the shell as it was glued on in a very few places and will likely tear off just by brushing against objects when carrying it around. I see others have commented on this too. In 2021 even helmets costing half as much as this one use more modern techniques to fuse the coating onto the shell. Apparently, Bell actually developed the technique so I was surprised it wasn’t used in this helmet

The fit was perfect, and I was happy it had MIPS at the $35 price point. However, it arrived with a manufacturing defect. The visor was too short on one side so the hook at the end would not sit within the ventilation opening, and was left sticking out freely to the side. The materials were fairly good quality and it felt like other good Bell helmets I have owned

 So I can't say how comfortable it is while riding, but it seems like it'll be great. I tried putting on my cycling glasses with the rear view mirror clipped on the rim and there wasn't any interference like my previous Schwinn helmet.  I also can't say how well it functions in a crash, and I hope I can never weigh in on that, either. But, I feel comfortable with this helmet at this price point due to the reputable brand that manufacturers it

 So don't expect a high quality looking shell.  Bell is a reputable, long standing brand of safety helmet. I trust Bell 10x more than any unknown foreign brand helmet. It's great this helmet is also designed and assembled in the USA

If you need a helmet that meets MIPS and CPSC certification for competing in a triathlon, this seems like a great helmet to meet your needs if cost is of concern.  I have not yet worn this helmet on the bike, I just received it yesterday

The Giro Manifest Spherical is our top choice for a mountain bike helmet. This helmet is pretty unique and has everything we've come to expect from a high-end, half-shell helmet. It has a sleek, well-executed design. It uses the MIPS Spherical rotational impact system, which is made up of two separate EPS foam shells connected with elastomers. These foam shells have different densities and are designed to rotate against each other in case of angular impact, much like a ball and socket joint. The interior foam shell extends lower on the back and sides of the head, allowing the helmet to comfortably fit a wide variety of head shapes. Large air vents and interior channels give some of the best ventilation we've seen in a mountain bike helmet, and the interior padding does a great job of absorbing sweat.

 Except for the Montaro I recently tried that was painful inside. This Manifest is pricey but very comfy, light, and has some nice features. It feels really nice on your head like a padded glove where others, for my dome at least, whereas others I've tried have pressure points and just uncomfortable. I have no complaints with the fit and feel of this nor the quality

This manifest spherical helmet uses a more advanced ball and socket MIPS design whereby this outer liner can rotate around the inner liner in the event of a crash

 So you don't have that hard plastic liner against your skin. This is interesting because it's never been an issue for me so I'm interested to see how this feels during a ride.
