I am comparing to my French press and full disclosure: I do not have a Clever, though I am intrigued by it.

What’s the point when you can filter an immersion brew to improve clarity (ie clever coffee, or a French press poured through a paper filter)? Watching Hoffman’s videos and running some tests at home, immersion brewing is incredibly forgiving of grind size and grind consistency, essentially netting you a very even extraction on immersion. If you then use a clever coffee dripper, or pour the resultant French press through a paper filter, you can remove suspended particles and get a very clean cup.

Other than the fun and challenge of the pour over ritual, this seems to be from what I’m finding a much more consistent and forgiving way to get the same results as a attempting to dial in a v60/Kalita/Chemex to perfect where you run the risk of channeling, inconsistent grind size, choking, bad technique, etc.

So… what’s the point? Why not always run a clever dripper or French press + pour through a paper filter?

Non immersion brewing: what’s the point?

 I love the bee house, small ceramic coffee dripper. I saw this at our local farmer's market at the coffee, roaster stall and asked them where they got bang amazon. Of course, it's great for when i just want to make one cup for me ended up buying the large, also for when i want to make two cups at a time. You just can't have too many the title of this review nearly says it all

 Is it's a nice way to try and experience the subtle flavors of coffee, and i would definitely recommend investing in eber coffee grinder to bring out the best in your beans and enhance the experience and taste in your cup. It is small, but our number five filter still fits in it. Fine, and as long as you don't fill above the ceramic with grounds you won't overflow it at first i thought. Maybe i should return it for a regular size one, but really this works just as well and takes up less storage space

 Of course, it's great for when i just want to make one cup for me ended up buying the large, also for when i want to make two cups at a time. You just can't have too many the title of this review nearly says it all. This is a very low tech way to make absolutely terrific, smooth tasting fresh coffee. I am just amazed and very pleased at the results the actual dripper is made of thick ceramic, so it's quite durable and for a small house dweller like me with little kitchen counter space

Hi everyone, my name, is Mark Kwok and we're gon na talk about some of my very favorite things today. We'Re gon na talk first about the Hari o v60. This is a coffee, dripper, also a coffee maker. I guess - and it's quite simple this is this - is it has some ribbed sort of edgings in the middle, and this is what makes you delicious coffee for not very expensive

 Then you do want to do what's called a bloom, pour the water into this into the coffee kind of slowly and and make sure that all the grounds are kind of wet and after you've done that, just let it sit and let it sit for maybe 30 Seconds or so this is supposed to be able to kind of make the best reaction for the coffee to come. Then just keep pouring just keep pouring little by little and make sure that um. You know this whole process should last you maybe about two to three minutes. It'S not gon na, be that long

 There will be plenty more stuff on coffee as well, but I like a lot of things out here, whatever it is, I'm here to kind of share with you, my favorite things. So again, I'm mark Kwok and thanks for listening, 

 Mine goes, I think, to 208. I just take it off at the kettle at that point. Boiling is what 212, so maybe a little bit cooled off from bowl a boiling ii put the coffee filter in and pour the hot water onto here. They say that this filter has some level of taste in it, go ahead and drain it first and then toss that water

HARIO V60 - Simple = Best?

 I thought a lot of people out. There will have been seeing this advert on Facebook themselves and I wanted to know whether this is any good. So you can hear that slowly dripping through now we'll see how much coffee we've got in the bottom now. So we need another half a cup yet so just do the same again, as I say just pour it very slowly around let that pour through McGann the company

 As I said it on. I can't very funny for that. Any of that, but I'll have to trust them on that one, and then you will or do a little bit of research into the company, see if there's any anything online about that and and when I say I haven't tried the coffee. I have tried it, but only in the Nespresso capsule form, which again I said that we posted a video on that when I tried the coffee and it was quite nice, I think Joey and what I had was the Brazil won and - and it was a little Bit more subtle than I expected it to be, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, because I could taste it wasn't just too bitter their business didn't overpower it

 I ran vinegar water through it several times, but the smell was as strong as ever. Got me to thinking about whether or not I REALLY wanted to use this plastic product for consumption..

 The other thing I found is that I wanted to just sit, sip,and appreciate it. I use a coffee that is roasted here in town. It is more expensive than the canned at the store, but it is a lot more satisfying. So

 Wow. The need for sugar with other methods (especially the machine) suddenly was not necessary here. The coffee was rich -- like a cup of frothy hot cocoa if I can compare. None of the sour / bitter / acid (?) taste which led me to add sugar was present using the Hario and the method

  At around $7 for 100 filters, that comes to what - 7 cents per cup of coffee? For the convenience, the ability to have the richness and flavor that good coffee can provide, this $15 dripper is a no-lose investment. I chose the ceramic, which is beautiful to look at, very easy to clean, and leaves none of that "tinny" taste you may get with metal or that unpleasant smell / taste that is usually found from plastic. This is a winner.

 I opted for the Hario filters and made my first cup of coffee with it - the same coffee I have used in the Cuisinart, the french press and now the Hario.  Wow. I'm not a total coffee snob using the typical coffee adjectives. But my taste buds immediately could understand the tremendous difference in what the SAME coffee can taste like using different methods and a good filter
