 I have also walked out of the house more than once with one headphone not pairing to my phone. I then have to go back and re-insert it into the case to get it to connect.  My OS is up to date, I have cleaned the contacts after each use to ensure no sweat is creating issue, and I have tried to ensure that the headphones are properly connecting when I close the case.  I'm glad I held back from spending additional money on an extended Apple Care policy

 This AM, I went to head out for a walk, and one was 100%, the other 2% charged.  The connections are very finicky, and closing the lid - its hard to tell if the ear hoops are touching, causing the headphones to disconnect. I have also walked out of the house more than once with one headphone not pairing to my phone. I then have to go back and re-insert it into the case to get it to connect

I've had these for about 2 months now, and they replaced another pair of Beats, which replaced yet another. Overall I love these headphones - sound quality, ease of use, not falling out of my ears when working out. But, the charging case s**ks. For people who aren’t white teenage suburbanite memelords, Beats has long shed their reputation for poor sound quality. That said, their releases can still waver between “good” and “not completely terrible” — with the Solo Pro perhaps being the best-sounding product they’ve released (comfort issues aside), and their recent Studio Buds perhaps being one of their worst in some time.

Recently, on the heels of Daddy Apple releasing the AirPods 3, Beets By Schrute comes out with the Beats Fit Pro. They caught my eye for two reasons — one, they use the same H1 chip as the AirPods Pro, meaning that they should have the same adaptive EQ, ANC, smart switching/pairing features, and other niceties that the APP have. And two, the integrated wingtip in a form factor that’s much less Hugh Mungus than the Powerbeats Pro.

So I pre-ordered a pair, keeping my expectations moderate, but nevertheless excited to see what ol’ Schrute Farms could put together. Here are my impressions.

# Build and Accessories

The main body of each bud is made of a hard plastic material, and the back plate that morphs into the wing is made of a soft-touch rubber. They feel sturdy, if not premium, and I don’t have any concerns about weak points or long term durability.

The case is a smooth-touch plastic clamshell. The lid has a nifty spring actuation that causes it to open all the way if you just crack it a little bit, but it stays closed very securely. Nothing about the build screams luxe, but it’s plenty good for what it needs to do.

Included accessories are simple — three tip sizes and a short charging cable. I personally have tried both the stock tips and the CP360 and find them both fine, though the softer material of the CP360 is just a bit more comfortable.

# Comfort and Fit

I had my concerns about the integrated wingtip, and I’ll say this: if you have very small ears, you’re probably going to want to give these a pass. My wife’s ears, for instance, are not big enough to tuck the wing tip into her *cymba concha*, which sort of ruins the point of the wing to begin with. But if you have medium sized ears and up, they should fit fine.

I don’t exactly adore the wing tip, but it doesn’t bother me much. It helps a lot with stability and reducing microphonics/occlusion when exercising, which is probably appropriate given what these are made for. For all-day wear, they do start to produce some irritation at the wingtip after a few hours, though it fades fairly quickly after removing, and this is extremely YMMV based on your ear size and shape. My ears are slightly below average in size, and the bigger your ears, the less you’ll notice.

# Sound Quality

**Tones and I**

Tonally, I would classify these as “warm V-shaped.” There’s an above-neutral lift to the bass, especially in the mid-bass region, and a slight recession to mid frequencies, female vocals in particular. Then the treble returns with some sparkle, though to my ears it’s below the level of the bass, which is what makes it sound warm overall.

Bass extension is formidable and pleasant. It’s fully audible and tactile to 30hz, though it rolls off quickly and dies at about 24hz. Of course, this could just be limits of my hearing, but the bottom line is that you won’t want for extension here.

Bass quantity is generally tastefully done, though there are times that the mid bass lift can feel intrusive. I wouldn’t say muddy, because these really do not sound muddy, but sometimes when listening to acoustic songs, I don’t need to hear the lower harmonics of guitars and drums so readily. And bass guitars are often more noticeable than I would find ideal. Of course, this is often a boon for rock, pop, and electronic music, but there’s no mistaking the Beets DNA in these.

Mids take a slight back seat here, so if you like your vocals to be up front, these won’t be right for you. I do appreciate that the lack of upper-mid shout makes them an easy listen — the Moondrop / Tanchjim / Etymotic ever-pervasive upper-mid lift that classifies a lot of modern IEMs makes me wince consistency as I listen to music, and so this is a very nice vacation from that. If you do like shouty signatures, though, be aware that these won’t do it for you.

Lower/mid treble is elevated above the mids, but never louder than the bass. Snare drums in particular seem to benefit a lot from the signature. There isn’t a whole ton of upper-treble extension, though my older ears can’t hear much above 15.5k anyway, so I’m never particularly bothered by a lack of extreme extension. At the very least, they don’t outright die above the mid treble, but it’s hard to gauge beyond that.

**Textures and Techs**

I’ve always had a hard time with describing this, so instead of pretending I know what I’m talking about, I will give you what I can say for certain.

Bass texture isn’t exactly perfect, but as I mentioned before, it definitely isn’t mud. It’s about as good as you might be able to expect from this particular product, but you’re not going to reach new levels of bass detail nirvana.

Mids, whether by virtue of their recession or otherwise, have some gloss to them, meaning that fine details are hard to perceive and don’t jump out much. Again, I wouldn’t say it feels “Low Res,” but don’t expect to do any critical listening of vocals or mid-focused instruments here.

Treble mostly follows the same story as the mids, though woodwind instruments can sound a bit “plasticky,” meaning their timbre isn’t quite right and they sound more like sound machine versions than organic instruments.

I’m not 100% sure that anyone in the world knows what they’re talking about when they mention “dynamics,” or at the very least I have no idea what they’re talking about, so I’m not even gonna try. But I will say that the “middle-resolution” vibe I get from the frequency bands is at least cohesive.

# ANC and Transparency

I classify the ANC as “good.” It’s just a hair behind the AirPods Pro, with the discrepancy being entirely in higher-register sounds. The ANC is plenty for everyday situations, but don’t expect it to keep up with extremely noisy environments. If a 0 is nothing at all and a 10 is Etymotics with Foams under a pair of WH-1000XM4, I’d classify the isolation afforded by these with ANC On as a 5, which is pretty good.

<p>Tonally, I would classify these as “warm V-shaped.” There’s an above-neutral lift to the bass, especially in the mid-bass region, and a slight recession to mid frequencies, female vocals in particular. Then the treble returns with some sparkle, though to my ears it’s below the level of the bass, which is what makes it sound warm overall.</p>

<p>Bass extension is formidable and pleasant. It’s fully audible and tactile to 30hz, though it rolls off quickly and dies at about 24hz. Of course, this could just be limits of my hearing, but the bottom line is that you won’t want for extension here.</p>

<p>Bass quantity is generally tastefully done, though there are times that the mid bass lift can feel intrusive. I wouldn’t say muddy, because these really do not sound muddy, but sometimes when listening to acoustic songs, I don’t need to hear the lower harmonics of guitars and drums so readily. And bass guitars are often more noticeable than I would find ideal. Of course, this is often a boon for rock, pop, and electronic music, but there’s no mistaking the Beets DNA in these.</p>

<p>Mids take a slight back seat here, so if you like your vocals to be up front, these won’t be right for you. I do appreciate that the lack of upper-mid shout makes them an easy listen — the Moondrop / Tanchjim / Etymotic ever-pervasive upper-mid lift that classifies a lot of modern IEMs makes me wince consistency as I listen to music, and so this is a very nice vacation from that. If you do like shouty signatures, though, be aware that these won’t do it for you.</p>

<p>Lower/mid treble is elevated above the mids, but never louder than the bass. Snare drums in particular seem to benefit a lot from the signature. There isn’t a whole ton of upper-treble extension, though my older ears can’t hear much above 15.5k anyway, so I’m never particularly bothered by a lack of extreme extension. At the very least, they don’t outright die above the mid treble, but it’s hard to gauge beyond that.</p>

<p><strong>Textures and Techs</strong></p>

<p>I’ve always had a hard time with describing this, so instead of pretending I know what I’m talking about, I will give you what I can say for certain.</p>

<p>Bass texture isn’t exactly perfect, but as I mentioned before, it definitely isn’t mud. It’s about as good as you might be able to expect from this particular product, but you’re not going to reach new levels of bass detail nirvana.</p>

<p>Mids, whether by virtue of their recession or otherwise, have some gloss to them, meaning that fine details are hard to perceive and don’t jump out much. Again, I wouldn’t say it feels “Low Res,” but don’t expect to do any critical listening of vocals or mid-focused instruments here.</p>

<p>Treble mostly follows the same story as the mids, though woodwind instruments can sound a bit “plasticky,” meaning their timbre isn’t quite right and they sound more like sound machine versions than organic instruments.</p>

<p>I’m not 100% sure that anyone in the world knows what they’re talking about when they mention “dynamics,” or at the very least I have no idea what they’re talking about, so I’m not even gonna try. But I will say that the “middle-resolution” vibe I get from the frequency bands is at least cohesive.</p>

<h1>ANC and Transparency</h1>

<p>I classify the ANC as “good.” It’s just a hair behind the AirPods Pro, with the discrepancy being entirely in higher-register sounds. The ANC is plenty for everyday situations, but don’t expect it to keep up with extremely noisy environments. If a 0 is nothing at all and a 10 is Etymotics with Foams under a pair of WH-1000XM4, I’d classify the isolation afforded by these with ANC On as a 5, which is pretty good.</p>

Speaking of Powerbeats Pro, I think they are perfect for their purpose. The hooks can be formed in almost any shape, so you are really unlucky if they don’t fit you. Secondly, their lack of isolation is a feature I appreciate very much. I think I have been running 1500 km with the Powerbeats Pro, and it is nice to be able to hear traffic. I have only tried to run with 2 headphones with transparency mode and wind noisy made them both almost useless during runs

Thanks for this review. My Powerbeats Pro still is my go to TWS but the battery is dying (I do a lot of zoom calls and the right earbud dies in an hour) 

I'm tempted to just get the Fit Pro now but am waiting to see if the Grell TWS might provide better audio and "good enough" convenience.

I just purchased Airpods Pro beforing reading about Beats Fit Pro, since I am within my return window on the Airpods Pro I thought I would buy the beats fit pro and return the lesser after a couple days of evaluation.  Well it only take a day and there was for me a clear winner.  But before I get to which one I returned.  Let me explain the differences as I see them, please keep in mind some of these differences are subjective.

1. Price -Airpods Pro on Amazon $189, Beats Fit Pro everywhere $199

2. Chipset - both use the Apple H1 chipset

3. Speakers - I could not find the brand or specs of the speakers for either on the web.

4. Microphones - Same as above

5. Charger -Airpods Pro Wired or wireless lightning cable or Qi certified charging mat.,Beats Fit Pro USBC

6. Build quality - Airpods Pro, like with everything Apple makes has their excellent feel and build quality. High quality polished plastics are used that provide a gratifying click closing the case.
Beats Fit Pro - These have a lighter cheaper feel (they actually may be heavier because of the longer battery time) but the plastic case has a real cheap feel to it.

7. Fit for me (subjective) - Using the ear fit test under bluetooth settings I was only able to get the Beats Fit Pro to seal 6 out of 10 times. I tried different size eartips. Testing the Airpods Pro, Using the ear fit test, I was able to get a good seal 9 out of 10 times.
I also want to say even with the ear wings on the beats fit pro they never felt as good for me as the Airpods Pods.

8. Mic Sound quality - Both my wife and I tested and we did blind tests.  We came to the conclusion the Airpods Pro were superior with the other party hearing a clearer and brighter voice.

9. Music playback- Sound quality was close enough. Frankly if your over forty you're going to have already lost some of your hearing range so this is very subjective.

10. Noise cancellation - Around the house they seem close maybe the apple has a slight edge but that is probably due to the fact that I have such difficulty getting a good seal with the Beats Fit Pro. The ultimate test will be on an airplane, I tested my wifes' Airpods Pro a month ago on our last flight and was very surprised how well the noise cancellation worked.  I would imagine the beats fit pro are as good or close enough, provided you get a good ear seal. 

This was a no brainer as much as I wanted to keep the beats fit pro, i returned them.
If your an athlete/runner you may absolutely need the ear wings.
Its very tough to determine whats best for everyone but for me the Airpods Pro were the clear winner

Beats Fit Pro: Not just "Good for Beats," but a genuinely good TWS IEM (Plus comparisons to AirPods Pro, WF-XM4, others)

I thought they worked as well and maybe even better than the AirPods for making calls because they don't have an open design that allows sound to leak in (that makes them better for noisier environments). Callers said I sounded clear and they didn't have trouble hearing me when I made calls from the streets of New York.Worth the price?People have gotten used to spending $300-$350 on a pair of full-size noise-cancelling headphones, but $200 seems like a lot to spend on a set of true-wireless earbuds, particularly with the second-generation AirPods starting at $130 for the version with the standard charging case. However, as I said, if the Powerbeats Pro fit you well, you're going to be quite happy with them

   	Apple's H1 chip on board Like the AirPods,  these also have Apple's new H1 chip that supports Bluetooth 5. That  means Apple users get the same fast-pairing feature and always-on Siri that allows you to  activate Siri by just saying, "Hey, Siri," rather than touching a button.  You can ask Siri to raise and lower the volume, and Apple Music users can  tell Siri to skip tracks forward and back. Needless  to say, Siri features only work with Apple devices, but there's some  good news for Android users: There are buttons on the earpieces that  give you control of playback and volume levels

I came close to getting a great fit. I would rate it between a B+ and A-. The issue wasn't one of security; I never had to worry about them falling off. With a few tweaks to the iconic earhooks -- they're bendable -- the Powerbeats Pros were essentially clipped onto my ears

 2. Fit. The fit is really perfect. They feel comfortable and they stay in my ears perfectly

 I'm having flashbacks of the problems I encountered while typing this part of the review. Problem 1. This only happened once but I will still talk about it. I was connecting the Powerbeats to my iPhone and forgetting them in the bluetooth settings because I was enjoying the animation that pops up when you pair them with your iPhone
