 When I did pedal Assist Level Five, I got 12.6 seconds. This bike seemed to jump off the line pretty quickly and the easier gear you're in, the more you're going to accelerate up to that top speed. When I had the Pace 500 completely off, I got 18 seconds flat, which isn't terribly bad considering this is a 49 pound E-bike This is one of those E-bikes I still feel like you can pedal around even if the battery's dead

 When it comes to the throttle only, I got one minute and 48 seconds. That's a lot faster than we got on the event and level, and I think that's partially due to this bike being a lot lighter weight coming in at 49 pounds. When I did maximum pedal assist level 5, I got 1 minute and 16 seconds just 8 seconds behind the evented level. So this seems to be a little bit closer together when it comes to the speed and capability of the throttle and the pedal assist, but the venting level might still be a tad bit faster

Whether you are going commuting or cruising on the Pace 500, you'll have more than enough battery life to get to your desired destination, so don't be afraid to put the pace through well, it's paces.  After we do these three tests and give you the times, you should have a better idea of how the Pace 500 jumps off the line and what type of speed you'll reach within that first little boost of time. If I had all the money back again, I think I'd buy something else but, if you can just barely afford this one just consider the aerial rideal and aventon 500 too. It's a compromised price point. No bike around this price can be perfect.

 I love the way it's built into the frame because it looks so clean and elegant. That said, it's a bit smaller than we usually see in this class of E-bike though only slightly. Even so, you still get quite good range. And in fact, I love the way Evinton always gives us the real world range figures, showing us that not only does the throttle only range give us about 30 miles of range at 20 miles an hour, but depending where you fall on the pedal assist levels from 1 to 5, you could get anywhere from 24 to 47 miles of range

 The bike rides on 27 and a half inch by 2.2 inch street tires, so there's a bit of a cushion there to make up for the lack of suspension, though admittedly not a ton of cushion. Even so, this is still a comfortable bike to ride because of the geometry. It's not a forward hunched commuter bike, but it's also not a totally upright cruiser either

 As the name implies, the Pace 500's rear motor is rated at a continuous 500 watts, though you know the peak power is definitely higher. I mean, it has to be because this model is a fast class 3 E-bike that gets up to 28 miles per hour or 45 kilometers per hour and it doesn't take too long to get there either. Plus, the 8-speed transmission lets you actually pedal fairly comfortably at higher speeds too. The bike gets powered by that new 48 volt and 12 amp hour battery with 614 watt hours of capacity

 Even so, you still get quite good range. Dubbed as an "electric metro bike", the Rad Power RadMission is a simple city-style bike with a very reasonable price tag. With looks reminiscent of a hipster fixie, this bike has a single-speed drivetrain and streamlined rigid aluminum frame. Unlike your average city bike, however, this Class 2 model has a 500W motor, 4 levels of pedal assist, and a throttle to whisk you along at supported speeds up to 20 mph. A 504 Wh battery also gives you plenty of juice for your commute, errands, or joy rides around town. The relatively narrow handlebar is positioned lower than most, requiring a more forward, aggressive body position. That said, it feels quick with sharp handling and an impressively smooth, stable, and quiet ride. The controls are relatively basic, but they are intuitive and perfectly functional. Rad Power's years of consumer-direct sales are also evident in their packaging and straightforward at-home assembly process. Weighing in just under 50 lbs, the RadMission is lighter than most other e-bikes and a bit easier deal with or move up and down stairs, for example. I have ridden the bike for over 1400 miles now with no problems. The Rad design engineers did a great job balancing component cost, motor capacity, and battery weight. A good commuter bike should be inexpensive, light weight, and have sufficient range for the average commuter. I routinely go on rides between 30-40 miles at 20 mph and return home with over 50% battery capacity

 When you start exceeding 20 mph the bicycle governor lowers the power to the motor regardless of the motor setting. I typically use setting 0 or 1 when riding in town at slow speeds and setting 2 for long distances when I want to move economically at speed. 

 I decided on this model as it was the lightest I could find at any price range. I originally worried about it being single speed but this turned out to be a non-issue. I routinely ride hills up to a 6% grade without difficulty. Freeway overpasses are barely noticeable with assistance

 A good commuter bike should be inexpensive, light weight, and have sufficient range for the average commuter. What's up, Bikers, It's Pierce here with Electric Bike Report again and today we have the Rad Mission One from Rad Power Bikes. This is a great value single speed bike coming in around that a thousand dollar price range that has proved to be quite the efficient commuter and overall just a really fun bike for us to ride. So far we've been really impressed with the package they've given us for the price point and we're really looking forward to showing you the nitty-gritty of how good this bike is to see if it's right for you. So with all of that being said, I'm really excited to take you piece by piece through this bike so I'll see you out there

 The electric assist is there to help you, but it's never there to take over and make it feel like you're just secondary to the bike doing its thing. Brad Power Bike stocks the Rad Mission one with an Led display, but I kind of like the simpler display on this. It kind of adds to the single speed feel in my opinion and it just keeps the bike overall very simple. It's focused on the riding versus all the tech that this bike offers

 They're Kenda contact tires and they're 27.5 inches by just under two inches wide. That is kind of the happy median of fast rolling speeds and good cornering. I have never felt like I was on too thin of a tire when I was riding this bike, and when cornering, it did feel like I was very planted around the corner not losing grip at all or anything like that

Rad Power Bikes RadMission 1 Review | City E-Bike (2021)

New to my RadMission, but I gave it a good test ride through the hills of SF. 0 PAS on flat or slight hill feels like a normal bike. For the most part, only PAS 1 or 2 is all you need.

 The Rad Mission is Rad Power Bikes bare bones, simple commuter bike and keeping in mind throughout this review that that is what this bike is meant to be. They've done a great job with it. The styling is nice and simple with great color choices available, but I went for the flat gray when choosing ours. Features on this bike are pretty standard, with not much in the way of fancy or cutting edge parts

 It's a pretty simple bike, only single speed, doesn't have suspension or anything, so there are a couple things I guess I could knock it on, But I mean overall, considering it does only have one speed and no suspension, it rides really well. It feels really well built, it's really solid, and the pedal assist is super smooth. Even though it is cadence sensing, it engages and disengages quickly. Uh, handles really well

Rad Power Bikes Radmission Review - A Simple and Stylish Commuter!

I bought my Rad Mission after test riding several Rad models and other brand’s models. I was looking for an ebike to commute to work so I could reduce my carbon footprint and get some exercise at the same time. 

 I am used to riding a hybrid bike so wanted something with a similar design and feel like I have better control of the handlebars and front wheel with the Rad Mission. I didn’t want a model that was too heavy because I wanted to be able to lift it into our pickup when traveling.

Ease of operation, nice looking, battery life good, really fun to ride, our terrain is flat, if you are wanting to climb I would have gears, our RadMission has only 1 gear with four pedal assist levels.
