 The only small issue I had, which seems to have gone away by this point, is that the piston would make a small squeaking sound when it went up from sitting to a standing position. Other than that all is well now in the movement is extremely silent and smooth setting up the smart desk only took a drill and some willpower, and I got down in around 2 hours. If you like, the setup I have in the video, which is a walnut table top and black Business Edition legs, it'll run you about 449. That may seem like a lot, but it compared to other standing desks of the same or less quality

Great Frame Wish It Included The Table Top For The Price..

 I really should have bought the one with the tabletop rather than leave it to my own devices. I have seen elsewhere the quality of the AI desktops, and they are pretty great. With my own tabletop, I had to measure and drill pilot holes and other places for the frame to go in. For the four additional hours I had to spend finding a good tabletop (not that easy to get the right size and weight distribution), drill the pilot holes correctly (not easy for someone as bad as I am with home projects), and then attempt to assemble

  After assembly with the dampeners, I thought the engine was pretty loud, and this is even compared with my older model Evodesk, but I also closer to the motor than my Evodesk. We will see how this motor runs, but the warranty on this Evodesk is quite long, and the motor looks replaceable in case of full mechanical or electronic failure. I recommend this for a straight desk with the hesitation that you probably want to buy the included tabletop rather than bring your own in most cases.

 This desk is one of Autonomous's newer lines, and having had an Evodesk for a long time, I wanted this for my bedroom as a worktable.  I have to confess that I have a little bit of buyer's remorse with this in terms of not getting an included tabletop. I really should have bought the one with the tabletop rather than leave it to my own devices. I have seen elsewhere the quality of the AI desktops, and they are pretty great

The 5 best standing desks for optimizing your home office setup

I don’t have a Ology but a Steelcase Migration SE and this thing doesn’t wobble at all (unless I unnaturally try to force it to wobble then there is a slight wobble at maximum height). Built quality is great and you can simply tell that those things are built to last. Considering that the Ology is not only more expensive but also seems even more robust, I am pretty sure that this thing is solid as a rock. 

I'm about to bite the bullet and buy the Ology desk, but I know it's pretty much a one way ticket due to the 20% restocking fee (plus the delivery fee). Has anyone bought and used this desk? Things that are important to me:

* warranty 10+ years (Steelcase offers 12 yrs)
* monotone laminate surface (no wood)
* sturdy legs that will work for a decade at the least (hence the need for warranty), and will withstand at least 2-3 moves
* sleek design
* no bulky cable 
* least wobble on standing height, on carpet floor (I'm not saying no wobble, but *least* wobble on a carpet floor)
* no stabilizer bar (I tend to kick while sitting, and don't want bruised shin)

The only other one that fit the bill (though more expensive) was Herman Miller Renew, but they only offer 5 years warranty on the desk frame (12 years on the desk surface lol, I think they should be the opposite).

thoughts on Steelcase Ology?

1.) How big of a desk do I want? 2.) What table top material would I go with? Bamboo, real wood, or am I okay with laminate.

Western Canada? That's where I live! I decided to go with a Steelcase Migration SE myself because  I had the opportunity to wobble it myself (They have a showroom in the City I live.)

TL;DR I'm a 5'5" woman and ill be using the desk for my laptop/stand, mouse, 27" monitor and smaller items. Work will expense but I pay tax on reimbursement, so hoping to keep it low.

I'm lucky to be able to expense the HM Nevi, or go through my wellness spending to get one, but I'm charged tax on both (as reimbursement counts as income). As such, I'm hoping to pick one that will keep that tax reimbursement as low as possible. 

Are there other goos options in western Canada? What should I look for? Avoid? Any and all help is great. I've spent some time reading through the sub and because I'm an absolute noob I felt more overwhelmed lol

For context, I'm a 5'6" woman and ill be using the desk for my laptop/stand, mouse, 27" monitor and smaller items like coffee/mug warmer, paper, decor; little ceramic skull statue and pens/pen holder.

Hello. I need help picking a desk. My work will %100 expense the HM Nevi OR I can claim another through my wellness spending. I'm in western Canada and have no idea what to pick. Please halp :)

On the note of cost, Herman Miller is very high quality, and their cable management system is pretty slick. Once you start adding things like grommets, extended height, etc, they get REAL expensive, and you may as well go for a Desk Haus. Barebones Herman Miller is about 400 to 500 more than a Steelcase/Fully/UPLIFT desk.

 Also, I found UPLIFT's shipping costs were twice as much as Fully. [Not a fair comparison considering one is in Austin and the other Seattle.]

 Their cost was not prohibitive, the company has a stellar reputation (particularly with chairs), and their in-City support was what really sold me. Initially I was interested in the Ology. The Ology comes with integrated cable management, and a preset memory height control. I tested it out in the showroom

 Stand and move throughout the day because at steelcase we're inspired by the idea that your next posture is your best posture. You
