 The only small issue I had, which seems to have gone away by this point, is that the piston would make a small squeaking sound when it went up from sitting to a standing position. Other than that all is well now in the movement is extremely silent and smooth setting up the smart desk only took a drill and some willpower, and I got down in around 2 hours. If you like, the setup I have in the video, which is a walnut table top and black Business Edition legs, it'll run you about 449. That may seem like a lot, but it compared to other standing desks of the same or less quality

 This makes life a little easier. You can go from standing in the morning to sing at night, while you're working on whatever you're working on. There are a few health benefits to this, but this is a tech channel. So, let's focus on how awesome it is the smart desk works really well

Great Frame Wish It Included The Table Top For The Price..

 I really should have bought the one with the tabletop rather than leave it to my own devices. I have seen elsewhere the quality of the AI desktops, and they are pretty great. With my own tabletop, I had to measure and drill pilot holes and other places for the frame to go in. For the four additional hours I had to spend finding a good tabletop (not that easy to get the right size and weight distribution), drill the pilot holes correctly (not easy for someone as bad as I am with home projects), and then attempt to assemble

  After assembly with the dampeners, I thought the engine was pretty loud, and this is even compared with my older model Evodesk, but I also closer to the motor than my Evodesk. We will see how this motor runs, but the warranty on this Evodesk is quite long, and the motor looks replaceable in case of full mechanical or electronic failure. I recommend this for a straight desk with the hesitation that you probably want to buy the included tabletop rather than bring your own in most cases.

 This desk is one of Autonomous's newer lines, and having had an Evodesk for a long time, I wanted this for my bedroom as a worktable.  I have to confess that I have a little bit of buyer's remorse with this in terms of not getting an included tabletop. I really should have bought the one with the tabletop rather than leave it to my own devices. I have seen elsewhere the quality of the AI desktops, and they are pretty great

 Foam beads like the ones used for bean bags should work, as long as they're micro beads; looking at Micro Polystyrene Foam Balls. Foam beads are typically 90-something-percent air and will eventually flatten out. In my research for beads it recommends getting virgin EPS foam beads, not recycled, to last longer, if that helps we'll see but not all beads mention it. I don't like the idea that I would have to refill this lap desk every 2 years, that's a real downfall but it's comfortable and it shifts nicely to conform to my shifting - I constantly adjust my legs and my sitting position

Great (with downsides)

  I use mine to work on the couch, in bed, outside in a lounge char, under a tree, wherever! I'm constantly making my co-workers jealous by not being chained to a desk ;)  On the not so great side the work surface seems like cheap particle board, and the cushion feels like a cheap bean bag chair with their cheap styrofoam "beans".  All and all I'll probably buy another when this one inevitably breaks.
