i use a Sound BlasterX G5. I cant vouch for plugging a microphone into it, but it has a headphone out, microphone in, optical in/out and a usb port which i plug my usb mic into  


I like it, I use it with 50mm philips phones and it gets way louder than i need. comes with software so you can EQ and apply some filters if you so desire. I think I paid a little over 100 2 years ago for it

Go check out the Audient Evo 4. Excellent quality and modern. Can't go wrong with that price. Had it paired with a SM7B, Audioengine A2+ and a bunch of various headphones. I used to own a Scarlett before and this one is a much better pick imo.

 In this video, we're gonna break down the Audient Evo 4 and decide, is this the best audio interface for a podcaster? The Audient Evo 4 is an audio interface that can take two XLR microphones and allow you to plug it into a computer. Why is that important? Well, for podcasters, if you're recording in person with somebody, you're gonna need two microphones, you're gonna need something to plug them into to get them into your computer. Now, the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 has been the gold standard for as long as I can remember, for years now. Anytime someone needs to plug in some microphones, we recommend this

 So now we've got it all plugged up. Let's walk through some of the basic features, things that every audio interface should do, and then one feature that I think is really gonna be helpful for podcasters. First and foremost, you gotta plug in the microphone that you wanna use for your audio interface, for your recording. Scarlett 2i2 Killer? Audient Evo 4 Audio Interface Review (2022)

 4) I'm not certain if your budget is for USD. Assuming it is, I'd recommend getting a Mackie EM89D mic (should be around 50$ USD), boom arm from amazon that clamps to your desk ($20 USD), Audient Evo 4 (Can be your headphone amp and audio interface $120 USD), and something along the lines of the AKG K245/K275, ($50 to $100, dunno why price varies so wildly), Philips SHP 9500 (\~65$), or even the above mentioned Edifier.

 

I'm a little indecisive sometimes on something I'm not an expert in (and have limited experience).

I currently have a worn set of HyperX Cloud 1's, and I think they're fantastic; but, I've read enough to know that better is out there and my mic broke.... Primary purpose would be for CSGO, so I can better pinpoint enemies. I'd also be open to hearing a high quality headset with music (I really haven't before - I'm accustomed to old Creative speakers.

I do NOT have an amp; but, I'm open to getting one if I need it.

From what I've read, I've seen that the ATH-AD700X and the DT770's (not sure which Ohm would be best; but, I was guessing 32 ohms since I don't have an amp) would be ideal for CSGO. I'm most accustomed to closed headsets; but, I am willing to give opens a try.

**Questions:**

1. I'd like a high quality mic for game and in case I do YouTube videos. I've read that Mod Mic (not wireless) would be really nice for what I want, and would install on my headset. Is this good advice?
2. Should I go Modmic uni or USB? Any other recommendation?
3. Should I be considering an amp? If so, what range of impedance would be recommended? I know that the higher, the more power it'll take to drive; but, I don't know how that effects pinpointing enemies in CSGO.
4. I've read that opens are overrated for gaming. Opinions?
5. Any other headphones or "gaming sets" I should consider?

I&#39;m also considering the 880 or 990&#39;s.... While CSGO is important to me, the 990&#39;s are known to be &quot;treble cannons&quot; and that sounds concerning, considering I didn&#39;t like the ATH-AD700X&#39;s</p>

 Nothing wrong with that, as the USB 2.0 connection is more than sufficient for external audio devices. Next to the USB connection, you got two balanced quarter inch TRS outputs. And further to the right, you got the two XLR and TRS combo inputs

On the top of the EVO 4, you find a stepped rotary encoder, which controls multiple functions, depending on what you have selected with the surrounding buttons. The dial is surrounded by quite a few LEDs and these show you exactly where your settings are at, or they show you your audio level

 The multifunction rotary encoder works very well, though it is a bit less convenient to have just one dial instead of multiple dedicated controls. The audio recording and playback quality of the EVO4 is excellent. It has low noise preamps, a high amount of dynamic range and low amounts of distortion on both in and outputs. I would have liked to see a slightly higher amount of maximum system gain so that you can amplify low sensitive dynamic mics a bit more

 But what I can say so far is that the headphone output on the EVO4 has a pretty good audio quality as well. It is low noise, the frequency response is very flat, and the amount of distortion is also very low. One thing that's not that great though is the output impedance of around 22 ohms. This can have an effect on your sound when you use low impedance headphones with the EVO4

Behringer UMC202HD audiophile 2x2, 24-Bit/192 kHz USB audio interface with MIDAS mic Preamplifiers.

 That can be a bad sign, but not necessarily. Looking at the reviews of this exact product on another web site that sells musical and pro-audio exclusively the aggregate rating there is higher with a near-zero fraction of very low ratings. That fact combined with the low cost of the product made it worth taking a chance on. At this price point, compared with what I will have to pay for a different very high-end product that pretty much takes out all the risk makes this Behringer product "trial" essentially disposable

 But it started with no problem with the 404 disconnected. Once Cake Walk was running I connected the usb from the 404 again and everything was ok. Cake walk recognized the audio devices and I switched my inputs and outputs over to it accordingly. With that step done, Cake Walk now opens and closes and opens again while the 404 is connected with no problems

 I recorded some audio off the input from the 404 and played it back through the 404 and that all worked. Audio quality is fine. I'm not an audiophile and I'm not using this for professional recording and it suits my needs for now.  A couple of negatives: Phantom power is not individually selectable per input

  So my experience with this so far: Set it up with some audio sources to the inputs, verified they were routing through to the headphone output, made sure I understood how to use the controls associated with this basic mode of operation. All good. Tested it with a CD player, a guitar (through an effects box), and a microphone. Phantom power is good, but it's all-or-nothing for all four inputs so watch out for that if you are using mixed microphones

 Im Thinking off buying a new Open One(because i notice a better sound in comparison to closed ones). From my like 10 hour research while watching youtube videos and playing osrs i find these Headphones attractive:.

 That said, if you find it for $60 or $65 dollars, it would make the deal spot on for value.

 In my estimation, the average user who is simply looking to create their own content, or upgrade from a laptop or PC soundcard will be very well satisfied with this device.  My primary gripe against this device for which I dropped one star is the installation support, which is none from Behringer. PC compatibility is a problem as it is not usable on a system without installing the right codec. Behringer has made this a messy process, and in fact without support, as it has no proprietary codecs or software for the device

 That is a massively dropped ball. But in the end I got it to work, so I’m relieved in the end. It took a couple of hours to get it to work which is the negative. I would still highly recommend this to everyone with the note that they need to get some help on the software side to install it properly

I am writing about both the UM2 and UMC202HD:  I had to write this review to help out anyone else who comes across this product like me. I want the best for the least amount of money, and I’m willing to spend more if it means avoiding a product that will be a waste of money down the line. These products match my expectations and needs at an excellent price point.  UM2: The pricing on this model can not be emphasized enough, because it is literally a third of the cost of more expensive equipment that fundamentally performs on par at its core function (transmitting good quality analog sound to digital for usage in a PC or in other devices through the analog output)

 But at this price? Not even close! In the very crowded world of sub-$200 audio interfaces, I will put the UMC404HD up there as a clear winner.
