 Based on what you're sending it i'll be using the dot module here, it has three patterns each up to 16 steps long and if i get it going i'll hit play here, if all the dots are full, i just get a simple pattern and i've got a Simple single note sequence here, but if i change that to a different rhythmic interval, i could get some pretty interesting sequences. So let's get that going, maybe do it with the arpeggiator and yeah enter a pattern. This basically gives the arpeggiator a rhythm function. You might find on other arpeggiators and generatively speaking is a nice way to explore different rhythms with your melodies and then a final little performance trick, whether you're playing a drum, beat or a melodic sequence, shorten the sequence for fills so say: choose two steps: it'll become Active when i release this or different length fills just a neat little trick to get some live variation with your patterns

 So i could use them here as well: got knob one and bank one to control the cut off and knob two controlling resonance okay, that was the sequencer. Let'S talk about chord mode, you can program your own chords just by holding the chord button and playing an interval, and then you can transpose that interval up and down the keyboard and you've got a few pre-programmed shapes that you can access in chord mode, and let Me just reset this to somewhat of reasonable defaults, so you always determine how many notes you have in a chord using this button up to 16 notes per chord, and this applies to custom chords as well. So if i program a short chord, simple major chord and play that, i can add more notes to it: [ Music, ], all adhering to the interval that i set or use any one of the other programmed chords user octaves, and this goes up to four octaves Fifths sus chord, [, Music, ], minor, minor, seventh, ninth and eleventh, and then [ Music, ] major options. Seventh, ninth eleventh, i think that's it and it will keep on again adding notes up to a four octave span and up to 16 notes

 It doesn't do anything, let's turn the velocity down and as you increase this it'll start, strumming notes up, maybe add some more notes: [, Music, ] and by default the speed isn't related to the tempo of the project. But as you turn, this clockwise you'll start to see that there are a few options where it is related to the tempo [ Music ]. So it's your choice, whether you want this to work with the tempo or independently of it, and this is bipolar so going the other way will strum downwards, getting slower, non-tempo synced, then you've got a few tempo synced options, including triplet, and dotted options like you had On the way up, so a really nice feature, one final important thing to say about the chords: let's maybe turn this into something more reasonable chords do work with the arpeggiator and sequencer, but only for one note at a time, so you can't get a chord out Of two notes or you'll just play one at a time, but this does work with the sequencer or with the arpeggiator okay, before we move on to the pros and cons, let's take a look at a few tips or ideas. You may want to try with the keystep 37

You also have additional settings in the companion, midi control center software, and you can also back up your settings and patterns there too. From a connectivity perspective. My suggestion, based on the example you gave: a Volca Bass (or Keys), a Arturia Keystep, and maybe another Volca like the Sample, and a cheap overdrive or delay pedal. Pocket Operators and Monotrons and NTS would be great, too. I think maybe smaller gear would be more like a modular system (and cheaper) than a Minilogue. Maybe the Minilogue can be a bit overwhelming

Simplifying, in the beginning (2 min) he is creating some sort of 'base' rhythm track (or layer?) and then he is adding new ones with for example that SH-101.

But, to be able to modulate that base track as well as that melodic second layer in real time (adding filters, envelope etc), he needs to have separate synthesizers? One for playing that melodic jams and second one that is playing that base rhythm layer in the loop with ability to modulate it?

So, for sure I want to buy some sort of keyboard synth. I'm thinking of Minilogue XD or Deepmind 6. But do I need more to be able to produce multi-layer track that can by modulated while playing? Some sort of second desktop synth or sequencer? Could you please advice me what to buy in addition to main synth? Sorry for probably stupid thinking on that topic. I deeply appreciate any help! First synth set - help needed

I know there were previously allegations of mistreatment at Music Tribe factories abroad, but those seem to have at least been addressed if they were true but not sure This is a whole other dynamic of toxicity that is finally making me reconsider buying Behringer products, even though I have one already in the mail and several more saved in my cart. I wanted to get other people's thoughts to help me make a personal decision on this. I have very little free spending money so Behringer products have always been very attractive, but maybe I should just save up over time. I also struggle to put in perspective whether my personal boycott would accomplish anything, practically or ethically

 A "real-time" musician did not design this part of the instrument, that is for sure. The blinking leds to show if you are shifted octave-wise are also distracting.

 They should have also marked the middle of the pitch bend area with a physical indentation, so your finger or thumb can feel where it needs to return to. There's no "dead/slack" area to the the top or bottom of the pitch bend, either, and I only seem to get a whole-tone in either direction even after changing the settings in the software. A "real-time" musician did not design this part of the instrument, that is for sure. The blinking leds to show if you are shifted octave-wise are also distracting

 If you like, you'll see that when i start playing that the green notes light up to show which notes are playing, but there's a white note lit up down here on this c note here. If i change to a different position, you'll hear that the sequence will change to a different position as well. So let's play with that [ Music ]. So that's the kind of fun that you can have with this sequencer and it's great fun

 If you connect it up to a synthesizer so using the switch on the left, we can go from sequencer to arpeggiator mode. So i'll do that now and then, if we press play on the transport controls and hold a chord down on the keyboard, it'll play that chord as an arpeggio. Let'S have a look now: it's got three notes in the arpeggio, because there's three notes in my chord. Obviously, if i play more notes in the chord, then there'll be more steps in the arpeggio

ARTURIA KEYSTEP 37! | 5 Reasons To Consider This MIDI Keyboard

Long story short -- I finally landed on a P5 about a year later. The verdict: I liked my P6, but I **love** the P5 and have no regrets (except perhaps that I did not get the P5 sooner). Other folks might disagree, but to me the sound is perceptibly more vivid, thick, and full; the P6 is much more prominent in the mid range and just doesn't have the same fullness. The envelopes in particular snap harder on the P5 as well -- most notably on the Rev3 filter mode -- which makes it a lot better for basses, fast arps, etc

I bought a P6 only a few months before the P5/P10 announcement. Had I waited, I would've gotten the P5 or P10. Since then, I've become quite attached to the P6. I use it almost every day. However, I think from time to time about what it would be like to sell it to get a P5, because that originally was the keyboard I dreamed of owning. But then I think about how badly would I miss all the extra features that the P6 has. I love and use the onboard effects, arp and sequencer all the time for the P6. I also love the stereo sound especially. 

For those who have wrestled with these same thoughts and sold their P6 for a P5, do you miss those extra things? Do you love the P5 so much more that there isn't any regret?
