Yeah, like I said, I have to reboot my thing just the other side of this wall, so I'm going to reboot that device in a minute, because that should be able to see it, So let's go and do that, so let's have a look, at the moment you see we're now associated with my X device, just the other side of that wall, So now what I'm going to do is very carefully, I'll pause it and I'll put this back together again and we'll see what happens to the signal strap, Yep, so the clam is back together, it hasn't got the USB plugged in at the minute,, and the signal still seems to be there, I'll just let go, it shouldn't drop, let's do that,. Yep, still there, So let's just now plug in that little extra jumper wire, see what that does,. Ok, so we've got the little jumper in the moment, put the screws on the bottom at the minute,, but that's close enough for government work, and the Wi-Fi still seems to be there, Now it's not as good as signal, but it's ok,

So I've come to revisit the SSD on the Argon 1 M2, so you see this one I got now definitely says such, So I learnt my lesson, that was my bad, I was never ever criticising the Argon 1 for its inability to be in NVMe, it was my bad, I searched in Amazon and said minus NVMe and then you sort by custom review and the EVO came up, I didn't spot the fact that when you sort by custom review it drops the filter, but it doesn't matter, the odd thing is that even when I put that, just find here, even when I put that drive, the NVMe into this external enclosure, it still didn't work,. But here we have the M2 SATA, what does it say, it says it there somewhere, yeah Anyways,, we have it installed in, you have to be careful how you seat this, because the first time I put it in, it sees it as some 40 device, as in my bad English, F O R T Y, not 40, not as in a fault, and it sees it and says hello, and then when you look on your unit you don't see jack, but now when we look at the LS USB, you can see it coming up there as a media tech ASM1051 solder, and if we look at the pseudo FTS minus L, then we get this is an FDSA, So what I'm going to do is to make the file system and at the moment you can see wireless is fine, but all the guts, sorry for the camera movement, the guts are all apart,. Now what I need to trial is format the disk and then put it back together, the clam shell together, and see whether this then disappears. Argon One M.2 WiFi dropout - You need a strong signal

UPDATE: the issue is in the SSD bottom part. Swap cables, swap SSDs and it is not reading. Since I’m in Brazil it took a while for me to be able to test it (Raspberry PI delayed the deliver about 5 months from UK). Hope the vendor is able to help me

 But when I attached from the external SSD case straight to the USB jack in the back, it was recognized. Now I’m waiting for the usb jumper I bought to see if the issue is in the base plate that comes with e Argo case or if it is in the usb adaptor. Hopefully it is the usb adaptor and I can use a small cable instead. I will update the review when I finish my tests

So far a good product, well built, great case! But it is not working as expected. I’m still doing some tests but here it is what I’m facing: my SSD is not being read by the usb-usb adaptor that comes with the case

  I bought this case even before I receive my Raspberry PI 4 8GB. Due to the worldwide delays, I got it about 15 days ago and I started doing some tests. Worked fine with SD card, boot and installed OS and when I was trying to boot from the SSD it was not appearing in the list of external drives to install the OS. I thought the issue was with the SSD, then replaced for another one that I new was working… no lucky

 So that is it! Now it's time to reboot the system and next time it boots up we'll be running from the SSD. So here it is up and running from that Western Digital M2 drive which is connected via that USB interface built into the Argon One case, and yeah no problems at all we're back in business. So the first thing I want to do is just run, if we run gparted just to make sure that the partitions look as they should. So as you can see this is the SD card which I haven't taken out yet, so that's the 16GB card

 It will actually resize the partitions appropriately to make use of the available space. So there's just one final thing to check just before we're all good to go with this solid state disk, and that is to do with the bootloader and the boot order set in the EPROM on the Raspberry Pi 4, and the way we configure that is just in the good old raspi-config script, and just go down to the advanced options and then down to the bootloader version and just make sure that we are running on the latest bootloader. You should be fine if your Raspberry Pi 4 is brand new and you've literally just got it because they should all ship with the latest bootloader, but there's absolutely no harm in checking and setting this, and this will also keep it up to date as well which is good. So that just sets the bootloader to the latest, and then the next thing that we need to do in advanced options, yet again probably not entirely necessary, but if we just set it to boot from USB first, if you are keeping the SD card in alongside the SSD then of course you'll need to set this to ensure that it is indeed booting from the SSD, but in my case I'm going to be taking the card out anyway so just probably saves half a second in the actual boot process, and when that boot process is going to be taking all of about three seconds it's probably well worth just skipping that check just for that extra extra speed gain

5 inch SSD, but they can be had for pretty cheap if you go with an off-brand like Silicon Power, and I've used them in PC builds and Raspberry Pis and never had any issues with them. The one and only issue that I'm seeing with this case right now is we cannot access the MicroSD card externally, we do have to pull the bottom off to get to the MicroSD. And with the newest official firmware for the EEPROM, you really don't even need a MicroSD card anymore to boot your Raspberry Pi 4, but I personally like using BerryBoo. Now when we compare this to the original Argon 1, which is on the right, you can see it is a bit taller, it does take up a little more space, but not by much at all

 This is going to stress out the CPU for around 10 minutes, it's going to give me a log in the background. Right now, I'm at 1.5 GHz. That's what I'm going to be testing at for the first test, then I'm going to come back and do a 2

 I've installed a 500 GB WD Blue 3D NAND SATA M.2 2280 SSD, loaded the latest Raspberry Pi OS and configured it to boot from the SSD. (No microSD card installed.) Running the SD Card Speed Test (not just for SD cards) that is part of the Raspberry Pi Diagnostics app, I got the results shown in the included screen shot

 While far from the 530 MB/sec sequential write speed claimed by WD, 295 MB/sec is still up to 30 times faster than many microSD cards out there.  In addition to the above, this case also provides a good cooling solution to a version of the Raspberry Pi that is known to run hot. In my environment, the system runs in the mid to upper 40s C (without the cooling fan on). The power button is a nice feature that allows you to do a safe shutdown without having to command it from the OS

0. Total garbage excuse. I've ordered a couple of 8bitdo Bluetooth controllers, so hopefully that will semi-solve the problem. Not happy with my purchase, considering it just cost me an extra $80 in controllers

  I ran into an issue when I tried using my trusty Logitech F710 Gamepad, though. This is my favorite wireless RetroPi controller and works beautifully when its receiver is plugged in straight to the Pi. I have used it for years with different cases and different RaspberryPis, and even used it successfully with the same Pi I attempted to use in the NESPi 4, when I tested it with a "Zebra" layered acrylic case.  I am not sure if the issue with the NESPi 4 case is because of the small USB extension or because of some other radio interference the case is generating

ALMOST PERFECT... but not quite.

  The included nes style cartridge as a case for your SSD adds perfectly to that aesthetic. I ordered some custom cartridges so I can switch them out from time to time. Game night is gonna be on like neck bones.

A nostalgic and entertaining system.

  Update: Still waiting of RetroFlag to give a damn and fix the safe shutdown script. Clearly this company does not care about delivering a good working product.  update 2: Also the heatsinks with the flat RPi logos just poorly executed here, they only give you two and one of the photos with the product show different heatsinks.

Safe Shutdown / Reset script not working on current Lakka versions

 I am able to play N64 games without any lag or issue (which I could not do without overclocking).  The safe shutdown feature is a nice bonus, as is the SATA drive attachment (which I haven't used yet). The only complaint is that my bluetooth devices seem to have a very limited range, though I'm not sure if that is due to this case or just the Pi 4 in general.
