I also crimped the case's female connector slightly. So far so good. At least I can use the unit without worrying about breathing on the wire and losing power, but I'm really not a fan of having to modify brand new products in order to get them to work properly. Luckily, Amazon's efficient return policy mitigated some of the pain here, but I think I may have learned my lesson and will probably not buy any more cases that don't allow for direct connection to the Pi's proper ports

I read all the reviews and got this case, thinking it could replace my flirc after I got a Poe+ hat. There are a couple of capacitors under the hat that needs you to tilt this to get all the pins inside the hat while the other side is raised. I got a riser for the gpio pins and that helped except now the magnetic top won’t close, even if I remove the fan. And the hat heats up so much there’s no point closing the top cover

Currently I don't use the Pi for anything CPU intensive (media servers, WireGuard, book server, reverse-proxy), but it does have an optional fan HAT (separate purchase) that uses a significantly larger fan that would be less whiny. Very happy with performance.

I followed the included instructions and found out that the case was dead on arrival. It would not turn on at all. I would hold off on buying from this seller. Don't let the good reviews fool you like they fooled me
