I'm 6'1/185 with normal length arms and typically wear slim/athletic cut - and I'm on the border of medium and large with tops - really depends on the fit. For this purchase I tried size Large. I have been looking for a lightweight fleece for my layering system, going between Patagonia R1 and this Arcteryx model - I wanted a hoodie and half zip so I could tuck in when desired without having a zipper, but based on the great reviews I gave this full zip a shot.  When unpacking, the material and look were solid, but the fit just wasn't right for me

 The size large was too wide in the middle, okay in the arms (could have been a bit longer), and too short in the torso if I wanted to tuck in (though might be fine for normal use).  I ended up sending back and buying a size L Patagonia R1 half-zip hoody, which was better for trim wise, good length in arms/torso, and is a bit thinner material which works better for my layering system. Not to mention I found an R1 at half the price.  The Arcteryx has a better hood and is more legit as a single piece outer layer, given its full zip, has a more water resistant and thicker fabric, and more pockets

Wrong fit for me - Patagonia R1 was better

 Where this has what was described on their website as a hard face. Um, it's it's not. Um, well, it's soft. It's not hard

 So I I love my fleece jackets that I have from our Terrex, my Coverts, my Deltas, my Kyanites, and I saw this um used on the site and I said, you know what, I want to try it, I want to see what this is all about. So I bought this and I gotta say, I'm pleasantly surprised. It's really a nice piece. It's uh, I'll show some pictures up in the back here

 The sleeves are at least 2" too long, and the back comes down to completely cover my butt. Fit around the chest / shoulders is great. Perhaps the torso length makes sense for tucking into ski pants - but it's a lot of extra material. I've decided to find a good tailor to re-work the the sleeves by taking off an inch and putting in a thumb-hole (or take off 2" and do no thumb-hole)

Great features, but sizing is odd

 I was sucking in with the large and the neck/chest area was tight. On the XL, the shoulders fell way far off my shoulders and the mid-section was way baggy. The fit I was looking for is something with just enough room to fit comfortably over a Rho LT or Rho AR XL base layer, but not baggy.

 The XL was too large and fit strangely where the panels connect to one another. The L was too small. This isn't my first time buying both sizes to figure out which one fits best and returning the one that doesn't. The difference in the L and XL is large enough that you could fit another size in between the two easily

Sizing is very weird for Arcteryx

Overall it's a pretty disappointing piece and wouldn't recommend it. I'd expect much better from this brand. I think they are catering too much to the life-style crowd and not the performance gear. There doesn't seem to be a clear divide

Traps a lot of sweat and not fast drying

 This does have a hood on it which I like, but for the price, this is way too expensive (& Made in El Salvador!). More like a thin sweat shirt & hood..

Not as warm as my Arc’teryx Polartec Soft Fleece

Originally bought as a midlayer for skiing (paired with an atom lt vest) but it has definitely become my go to fleece for everything. Fit is perfect - trim enough to fit under layers but not so tight that can't be worn alone. It looks good enough to wear casually which is something that I didn't really plan on using it for. Hood also fits nicely under my helmet

 Pocket configuration with the relatively large chest pocket and hand pockets is better than any other fleece I have.

Best Budget Fleece Jacket of 2022 - GearLab

 The sleeves are long enough, even a bit longer than they could be. It's warm and can be worn with a long sleeve T-shirt under it. The blue is KY blue, too.

I like it

 Additionally, the sizing of the medium reminds me of the sizing used in China in which the majority of the population were lean. I do not have such a body type so my chest and arms of this hoodie are tight whereas the torso and length fall in line with my dimensions. Overall, I believe I received a Chinese knock off and paid full price. Troubling

First, the sizing chart was not accurate for me. I own a large UA hoodie that fits perfectly. Unfortunately, the large in this style was much too big so I needed to return the original purchase for a medium. More importantly, the alleged authentic UA hoodie I received reminds me of the Chinese knock offs I used to buy when I lived in China

 That's very nice vs the uselessness of a kangaroo pocket that may or may not keep things from getting lost. Look nice, wear nice, and aren't styled like a hoodie for a little kid with elastic bands.

 No giant kangaroo pocket, small slit pockets off to the sides. Small, stretchy pocket inside a regular pocket that can actually secure key fob, ID, something small during workout/activity.  The fleece is a great weight, the polyester fabric is preferable to cotton, and the length is great. This is a great improvement on fit over previous cuts UA had. Please don't discontinue!
