Arc'teryx Alpha LT vs Arc'teryx Beta LT

I’m going to preface this with, I fully anticipated having to send this back as soon as I received it. I’m 6’4” with long arms (37” from CB) and slender. I’ve always struggled to find a jacket that had enough room in the sleeves but wasn’t built for two in the chest/midsection. I’m a size 36 waist, which sometimes suggests a size L, and I sometimes find myself between Arc sizes with broader cut pieces like the Fission SV or LEAF Cold WX LT fitting me better in a L. Certain fleeces like the Delta LT and Kyanite LT also fit me best in a L, so I had some concerns the Acto FL might be a bit too baggy, but it is a very trim cut piece and ultimately fits exactly how I wanted it to.

I like the over color and the fit of the jacket is spot on. It has a good texture without feeling bulky but still provides good warmth. This jacket with an shirt underneath will keep you warm to about 20 degrees outside in heavy wind and rain. I would get the alpha jacket gen 2 if you needed perhaps a bit more durability as it is a heavier fabric

Arcteryx make the best jackets. This is my second Beta LT after giving my first one to a good friend. Excellent product, kept me warm and safe during several mountain ultra marathons.
