There is a second exclusive face to series: seven, it's called contour, it's the one that you see in a lot of the marketing material, and i mean the aesthetic of it is subjective right, not everyone's gon na, like it it's this set of stylized numbers that go Around the perimeter of the dial, but when i look at it it feels like a tech demo. It feels like apple, only put this on apple watch series 7, just so they could showcase what the largest screen could look like with the refractive glass on the side. So you can kind of see that kind of bending optical illusion of the screen it's kind of neat, but at the same time, it's strange to me that they built a watch face with so much emphasis on perimeter detail just so they could showcase what the largest Screen on series 7 could do it almost feels like they built that watch face just for the marketing material

 They all thought that there would be a refresh like a redesign for apple watch series. Seven and obviously it didn't come right that flat-faced design never came around. It was just the standard curved edge, uh apple watch that we've seen for several years now, so when it, when it first came out that this was going to be apple, watch series 7., i think a lot of people kind of laughed at the rumors

 Lastly, i also wanted to talk about external sensors that you can pair with each of these watches. So with the series seven, you can pair external bluetooth, heart rate sensors, which can be useful for stuff like weight training where, in general, most wrist based heart rate sensors. Don'T do all that well and then you can also pair up foot pods like the stride foot pod. However, with the phoenix 7 and the epix, you can pair both bluetooth as well as amp plus external sensors, and these could be heart rate, sensors foot, pods, speed and cadence sensors for cycling power meters for cycling, temperature, sensors, electronic shifting for cycling, garmin, vario radar and Lights golf club sensors, i mean basically anything so on a high level

 Apple watch series 7's those come with aluminum case, but there are also stainless steel and titanium case options and with the higher end options you actually get a sapphire glass lens and beyond that, though, there's also going to be a lot of different options when it comes To style where you can choose from tons of different combination of case colors and bands and a whole bunch of other stuff, and you think, there's a huge gap in terms of price and you're. Garmin also does have an app store sort of thing that they call connect iq where you can download apps watch faces and widgets for your watch and there's a lot to choose from here. But these aren't going to be quite as robust of apps as what you can find on the apple watch series 7.

As someone who used to just get "fitness watches" like the FitBit Versa series, I am extremely happy that I made the switch to my Apple Watch Series 7, and while I do use it for fitness, I also found that it just equates to higher quality of life through conveniences. Things I never thought I would use my apple watch for, I find myself using. For instance, I set my phone down around my house at completely random and impossible to locate places daily it seems (don't ask me why).

Sorry I needed to add one thing. I'm considering this watch because my iPhone will be locked up all day in a lower-level locker room, per company rules which cannot be fudged. It's very strict so I was surprised that Apple Watch is allowed. Perhaps because it cannot reach the iPhone. It would have access to WiFi though.

The Sleep app is actually amazing as my schedule changes drastically from day to day.  So I told it I wanted at least 6 1/2 hours of sleep, and it reminds me when I am reaching that point.  I'm also someone who used to set 10 alarms to get up (5 min increments) .. generally getting up after the 5th or 6th alarm goes off.  Now however, I wake up with the vibrations on my apple watch before one of my backup alarms ever go off and I feel more rested.

Other functions that would normally require you to dig your phone out like setting timers (including multi-timer), taking voice notes and making lists, remote phone-camera, real-time translate, constellation tracking.... and the walkie talkie function is actually awesome and use it a lot.  I also like the sound/decibel level warning (when to put on earbuds to protect hearing).  Lastly, and it seems weird; but quick glance down for weather/and how many h or d til next rain/snow, is just so damn convenient.  


Note: I 100% recommend a solo sport loop.  I hate watches with clasps.  You can pick up any of the new black friday deals for $50-$75 off and buy a 3rd party solo loop from Amazon for $7.99-$9.99.   As for the quality I cant tell the difference, I have an Apple Blue Solo Loop and 3 3rd party Solo Loops in Red, Black, and Green, and they are 100% the same thickness, same build quality, although it is slightly shorter (which I prefer as it is an in-between size between 8 and 9 apple band).

Strip all that away and you have something that does a very small portion of what your phone can do except it’s on your wrist. It is kind of nice to be able to check the weather at a glance on your wrist, or set a timer without pulling out your phone. But I am a regular runner, and since breaking my foot a few weeks ago, I’ve only sporadically charged my Apple Watch as it’s not providing me much value.

Considering an Apple Watch --- But it seems to me they are most useful for fitness

 The battery does not last anywhere near as long as my Fitbit and it does need charging before bed in order to track sleep, which was another conundrum as it didn’t ask during sleep set up as it should have. It did not track sleep the first night (despite being set up to do so in the app on my phone), so I reset it hoping set up would ask (it did not). It ultimately did track on night 2. Otherwise, the green on the band is a little brighter than army green, which is nice and the actual watch is more black than green which will enable easier band swapping

After using a Fitbit for years, it will take some getting used to, but I am hoping the increased functionality and Apple will give more reliability than the Fitbit (which each I had ended up with a warranty replacement in the first year).

After ordering and receiving it today (after being delayed) I opened it to find the battery is completely dead. It’s been charging for a about 20 minutes, but still shows the red lightning bolt for needing a charge. It is concerning, as a dead battery could pose other problems. Edited on day 3: Apparently the reserve charge can drain the longer it sits

I got the series 7 on launch day; it is my first smart watch. After having it for two weeks, I'd say I wish I had gotten the SE when it came out last year instead of waiting all this time for the 7. Blood oxygen sensor and ECG are total gimmicks, so unless you have a legitimate cardiovascular health concern, I'd save a few dollars and go with the SE. Fast charging and the big screen are nice, but I don't think it justifies the increase in price

Im planning on getting an Apple Watch but looking for some advice.
I’m only 14 so most of the time I won’t rely too heavily on the watch so I’m wondering whether to get the Series 7 or SE as the cost of the 7 is a lot higher and I’m simply wondering if it’s worth it. Any help will be appreciated!

Series 7 or SE?

This was watch was purchased to replace a standard watch that failed but it has proven that it is worth its weight in gold to me now. Favorite feature is I have a loaded calendar with meeting and appointments, and this watch will notify me discreetly while I am currently attending a meeting with out being rude in front of whom I am meeting by a phone flash or having to flip my phone over to read the display. I can put my phone away and truly give my undivided attention to whomever is needing it at the time as well as staying on time for the upcoming meetings still on the calendar! A must for someone with a busy professional lifestyle!

 Not to mention that I can also load music from Apple Music to it so that I don’t have to have my phone on me while working out (plus plenty of other cool apps). I’ve had it for a week now, and it has already been a great investment. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that the battery life leaves a LOT to be desired. I’ve changed a lot of settings to help preserve battery life (which helped), but it still requires daily charging

Great investment for fitness and beyond

  The Series 7 has been out a while, but apparently the coming Series 8 will not see a major functional upgrade beyond outward design. It’s expected to have the same battery, SoC and sensors, all packed in a flatter, rather, less-rounded case of similar size.  Most users purchasing through Amazon report original equipment in new condition. Sure, there’s always going to be an unfortunate few who receive a factory defective product, but at this price I was willing to risk the time and potential headache of exchange or refund

 Though I do presume none are here to read how convenient a certain feature remains. Yet the main point I’ll relay is the realistic expectation of a full day’s battery life. I keep it on all day except for the ~20 minutes I set it down to charge each afternoon or evening depending on activities. I leave the screen always-on at max brightness and run various tracking, control, and communication apps continuously

  Admittedly, I danced a happy little jig around my table as I realized, for once, things actually turned out in my favor.  In the last few weeks of wearing it each day, I appreciate its many capabilities. Though I do presume none are here to read how convenient a certain feature remains. Yet the main point I’ll relay is the realistic expectation of a full day’s battery life

A decent watch, and better assistant. All too good to pass up!

 And yes Apple planned obsolescence is the driver for most tech stuff upgrades. This was no exception.
