The Apple iPad Pro 5 is a powerful tablet that is capable of performing many tasks. It has a beautiful 12.9-inch screen and is compatible with the Apple Pencil and Keyboard. It is fast and responsive, and the touch screen interface makes it easy to use. However, it is quite expensive and the operating system is restrictive, limiting its potential.

Verdict

The Fire HD 10 Plus is a great performing tablet at a very nice price point. It has a bright and big screen, is fast, and has a good battery life. It comes with Kindle and can install Tachiyomi, as well as other apps from the Amazon App store. It has 3-4 GB of RAM (depending on Plus model or not) and can do some basic productivity work alongside reading. It has a 10 inch screen and can show movies in 1080p. However, it has a crummy camera and the lack of clarity in the description of the product is a huge disappointment.

It's also, infuriatingly, saddled with an OS that still embraces a 2012-era idea of tablet computing. The result is an amazing tablet that can't quite justify its luxury-laptop-level price, because you still need a computer running a non-tablet OS if you want to open more than three windows or use a second monitor.

User Experience

Apple still dominates the tablet market.

I switched to the M1 MacBook Pro in 2020 and the improvements were astounding. Those improvements don't really seem to have quite the same impact on the iPad, and that's mostly because it's still a victim to iPadOS. I don't imagine that Apple has any plans on allowing its iPads to run MacOS, due to cannibalization of the MacBook market, but iPadOS has its limitations. I do not think the iPad is ready to replace your laptop quite yet, but the power is there to do so

Better than the last one but....

This problem happen on my earlier HD 10 also. Rebooting doesn't help, syncing doesn't help, and I'm not doing a factory reset for this. It would be nice if Amazon could fix this glitch. The Amazon "system" works so well in most other areas it just seems kind of petty in these two areas, it will never earn more stars until these things are rectified

Verdict - Mini LED, and an M1 SoC create almost the perfect tablet

However, the iPad Pro 12.9 is not always ahead of its 11-inch sibling regarding colour reproduction and dark surroundings. The use of PWM for brightness control in the 12.9-inch model will also upset some people

Bigger and Better! *Update*

So, for devices that retail at less than $250, it would not be fair to expect that level of screen quality. That being said, Amazon has definitely improved things here. We get 1080p HD and the screen does not feel as laggy or slow to me. Further, it is noticeably brighter to my eyes which was probably my single biggest complaint about the 8

Bloom! ...on an otherwise very nice device.

9”, this is not as big of an improvement as I thought it would be. Yes, this is faster but unless you’re a pro or gamer, you probably won’t notice a big difference from the chips a few years ago. What's up with the battery? Updated

I wanted to love it, the price is right and the specs should be good. But the battery makes me give it a low star review Add on, 6-1-21 Did a 33 minute Ifit rowing session, battery dropped 15%!!! My 2016 Nvidia shield gets about the same battery life! I got this fire tablet for the supposed "12 hour battery" Add on, 6-4-21 Ok, there was an Amazon update for the tablet. Did the same workout on ifit. 33 minutes, screen on high, max volume

Battery Life

One tiny hiccup, but all is well now.

The battery life is awesome. I can sit and edit for hours without being interrupted to charge it. I actually don’t think it’s ever told me to charge it, I just do after I am done with it. The touch screen is very responsive as well

The price vs performance ratio is hard to beat!

This tablet came with Microsoft Office already installed, and it does not require a subscription. I love the battery life, especially when playing music. The split screen option is great also for multi-tasking. The Amazon App store has the bare minimum, but sufficient for what I need

Camera Quality

Waited to upgrade for several years - worth it!

It’s effortless and smooth. The M1 makes a huge difference. + the camera is amazing and the depth sensor opens worlds of possibilities for immersive, but you’ll likely rarely use it + it’s an Apple so the resell value is great. This reduces the cost of ownership because when you upgrade in a few years you can still sell for a good amount

Best bang for your money!

I bought this tablet on a lightning deal 40% off. I wasn't able to find another tablet better than this for the money spent. Great display, amazing battery life and lightweight. My only complain would be the camera quality can be better, but still performs ok

Weight

Bad screen, heavy, cumbersome, bad keyboard, etc.

This 12.9 iPad is huge and heavy, making it inconvenient to use, which is exactly what the iPad was designed NOT to be. The screen is "ghosting," meaning if you're using at night on a black background, white letters or images have a halo effect. Not good for night time use

Great price point and battery life, but missing all Google apps/app store, screen casting, and VPN

Among the top missing ones are GMail, Chrome, Google Maps, Calendar, Contacts, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Keep. Many other applications are missing also, including any you may have purchased through the Google Play Store. This alone is grounds for -2 stars. Not quite worth the loss of another star is that the tablet is fairly bulky, plasticy feeling, and heavy

Size

The smaller iPad is cute, but the 12.9" screen size was better for us and the 2TB capacity makes this the perfect iPad for us.

Bigger is not always better.

The screen real-estate is still 10" just like the 2019 model. What has been shrunk is the dead zones of the tablet along the edges. My pictures should show that :) Now to the review. Comparing to the Kindle FIre HD 10 (2019) BLUE vs the new Kindle fire HD 10 + (black) Over all
