. but having worked in injection molding plastics I'm particular about my "customer facing surfaces". I think they could have gotten there with this printer with maybe $100-$200 more in hardware to stiffen it up and make it work right "out of the box". I'd gladly have paid $700 if it worked with less tinkering on settings

Good Printer Overall - Has some Problems and Not for Beginners IMO

8mm nozzle with good results. I'm now happy with the printer and wanted to voice my quality control concerns since it set me back a couple months of troubleshooting/waiting for parts to get it working again.

Quality control issues from the factory, but once fixed, quite reliable

  Customer service responded to my initial request promptly, asked a few questions and began processing my request for a replacement bed. Replacement bed arrived from China in great condition. Customer service followed up with me several times to ensure my needs were being taken care of and it was an overall painless, pleasant experience. All companies should have customer service this good!  Overall Impression: I'd not hesitate to buy this printer again, or buy another one if I needed it

 The build volume means I can probably print whatever I want and lots of stuff I don't need.  It's not a fast printer. There's quite a bit of weight moving around with the bed and you don't want to go too fast unless you don't care about artifacts in your prints. Again, I didn't buy it for speed but for the volume

If you are new to 3D printing, and are unsure of what to ask, try to include the following in your posts as a minimum:

* Your budget, set at a numeric amount. Saying "cheap," or "money is not a problem" is not an answer people can do much with. 3D printers can cost $100, they can cost $10,000,000, and anywhere in between. A rough idea of what you're looking for is essential to figuring out anything else.
* Your country of residence.
* If you are willing to build the printer from a kit, and what your level of experience is with electronic maintenance and construction if so.
* What you wish to do with the printer.
* Any extenuating circumstances that would restrict you from using machines that would otherwise fit your needs (limited space for the printer, enclosure requirement, must be purchased through educational intermediary, etc).

While this is by no means an exhaustive list of what can be included in your posts, these questions should help paint enough of a picture to get started. Don't be afraid to ask more questions, and never worry about asking too many. The people posting in this thread are here because they want to give advice, and any questions you have answered may be useful to others later on, when they read through this thread looking for answers of their own. Additionally, a quick word on print quality: Most FDM/FFF (that is, filament based) printers are capable of approximately the same tolerances and print appearance, as the biggest limiting factor is in the nature of extruded plastic. **Asking if a machine has "good prints," or saying "I don't expect the best quality for $xxx" isn't actually relevant for the most part** with regards to these machines. Should you need additional detail and higher tolerances, you may want to explore SLA, DLP, and other photoresin options, as those *do* offer an increase in overall quality. If you are interested in resin machines, make sure you are aware of [how to use them safely](https://www.reddit.com/r/3DPrinting/wiki/resinprinting#wiki_safety). For these safety reasons we don't usually recommend a resin printer as someone's first printer.

Purchase Advice Megathread: What To Buy, Who To Buy It From, And More, In April 2021

 I had to extend them using the old ones.  Once replaced, I improved the head strain relief to reduce the risk of reoccurrence by designing a strain relief plate that attaches to the deck. Now it operates smoothly and hasn't broken since. It attaches with no screws or adhesive, but slips into place and stays put

Broke after 40 hours of use, otherwise excellent.

 My family owns 4 Creality printers and this one was the worst, I have too assume that they have really let their quality control go down hill and that’s too bad, I’m not sure if I will buy another..

 Well I have had plenty of problems with this one for sure, it was poorly assembled,the hotend was damaged out of the box and nothing would stick to the glass print surface and the shaft on the extruder motor was bent. After replacing all of these parts I finally have it working as it should. My family owns 4 Creality printers and this one was the worst, I have too assume that they have really let their quality control go down hill and that’s too bad, I’m not sure if I will buy another.
