Anker Soundcore Life Q20 vs Focal Clear

Everything sounds like it's meant to be there and is happening around me rather than just in my head. They are a little tight out of the box, but I'm sure they'll wear in. Overall, love love love these for my first big boy headphones.

By shit quality I mean: if your $1000+ headphone (hell, $50+) headphone can break with normal, intended use, rendering it useless without incurring huge fees to have it repaired, it is shit. I own a Focal Clear and Hifiman Edition X V2.

I planned on sharing the play experience with some friends, so earbuds were out of the question for sanitary reasons. I wasn't looking for stupidly-expensive headphones to have to play some VR games, but wanted something decent so Beat Saber would sound better haha. Previously, I had bought these $15 Panasonic headphones that had banger reviews, but once they arrived, I put them on, turned on some music, and instantly boxed it back up. Trash

I don’t have any desire to go further than Focal Clear, but I’m also trying to be strict on how much I’m spending on headphones. I don’t know if EMU Ebony is my end game closed back or not but I don’t have any desire to replace it until it shits the bed (hoping that never happens!)

Battery life is pretty good. I can get through a six hour conference call marathon, but it'll leave me using laptop speakers and mic by the end of the day because you can't charge during use. Comfort is better than par. Anything under 4 hours at a stretch has been no problem for me

Out of the box, onto la cabeza, hit play: yep, these are the ones. No worrying about whether the bass will drop and the treble grow less congested after break-in, because the Focal Clear sounds very obviously natural from the start. No pondering different amping options, because it sounds great out of anything. No stewing over whether or not it'll grow on me or if I'll send them back

3. They don't fold up as small as the Sonys or even my ATs. This one alone is not worth docking a whole star, but it's the only other complaint I have. Carry-on space is so limited, and there's a pocket in my bag that the Sonys fit in, and these don't (not by much though)

you need a bit more headroom than these can deliver to fully sweep you off your feet and fly you away...and that is simply a deal-breaker for me
