 We've got the classic Ampeg tone stack with the ultra high and ultra low filter switches. We've got the EQ here it's a three band EQ everything set at 12 noon right now bass mid and treble standard three band EQ. Moving right along we've got an auxiliary input so you can connect your mp3 player your iphone your tablet backing tracks and so forth and that's got both a quarter inch jack and a mini jack input. We've got a balanced line output right here for a DI which we're using to record the signal as we speak and then we've got a effect send and return for those delays reverbed loopers that you might want to engage after particularly if you're using the overdrive effect keep things nice and clean

 Finally we've got a mini jack input for your headphones if you want to practice quietly and we've got a high frequency mute switch to take that horn out if things are getting a bit percussive and a bit too much high end and as I say the foot switch is connected here which takes the overdrive effect in and out. Let's begin with everything set at 12 o'clock nice and flat and neutral this is the amp in its natural setting. So let's bring some of those filter switches and EQ controls into play. I'm going to kick in the ultra low and the ultra high to bring out the bottom end and the top end jack up my bass and roll off a bit of the treble and the mid and we'll hear how that affects the same riff

 So that's a nice addition to the BA series right there. Okay moving on into the main preamp section we've got a master volume right here. We've got the classic Ampeg tone stack with the ultra high and ultra low filter switches. We've got the EQ here it's a three band EQ everything set at 12 noon right now bass mid and treble standard three band EQ

 Okay let's check out a slap tone with similar settings just to see how that brings the amp out. Okay so let's really go for it now with the overdrive kicked in the fat switches in and the mid scooped out and the bass jacked up. Okay so that was the Ampeg BA-210 the flagship of the BA range there are a number of smaller combos and the BA-115 in a similar cabinet size so check those out. These are available immediately through your local music retailer so get in touch with them always buy from the UK to protect your warranty status

 The lean back cabinet was a nice touch, along with an AUX so he can play along with other music. It's not enough amp to play out with, but sufficient for a small practice room or the garage. Overall build quality, fit, and finish look much better than you would expect out of an amp at this price point. Would definitely recommend this to someone starting out as a first amp, or as a small, portable lightweight practice amp for an experienced player

Has an aux in, phones out, and effects loop. I can rattle every window in the house with it and have to dial it back jamming with a guitarist. It's a good all around amp and cab, I've had mine for 3 or 4 years and got it as a package from Sweetwater on Ebay for cheap.

What are some kick ass bass amps?

 Here is the XLR line output, which is very cool, you can use it as a direct box, instead of plugging the cable into the guy's direct box, you take the cable, which is cool, you will send a signal to the table super clean, right? And down here, these two connectors, here is the effect loop, which bass players usually use very little, right? Who uses this more is the guitarist, there is the return here and the send. Many will never use this here, because it is for you to connect an external effect in the head, you know? But it's a delay, for example, it only works with delay and reverb. The reverb you can put it in front of a normal pedal that will work just fine. So this one, who uses it most are the guitarists

 Suddenly you are in your house, in a place where you can not play loud, you activate it here, the volume is low, but it works with all integrity, with the equalizer, the volume and everything else, just decrease the power to 15 dB, this is very cool. Here is the peak light, when it is distorting, it lights up, suddenly you are playing very loud, the volume is very loud, it lights up here together with the limiter light that I explained before, you turn it down here, input. Here is his handle, very nice, it is very light, his design is super vintage, I remember an old radio, I think it's very cool, but here it is very new, this one here. I have an Ampeg Micro VR and a Fender rumble 200 cab. It's the perfect size for small and medium venues. The DI out of the Ampeg is the cleanest signal I've come across, and I can carry both in each hand.

I am looking to purchase a bass amplifier that I can use in small to medium sized venues. As I'm a beginner who is learning about bass amplifiers I hoped I could ask for advice on what I should buy?

I've always thought I should purchase the TC Electronic BQ500 along with some sort of 2 by 10 cabinet. The BQ500 seems to be good value for the price. It's advertised as a 500 watt amp but after further research it seems that it is not truly 500 watts RMS( from doing some reading it really has RMS of 353W@4 ohms and 175-200W@8 ohms).  But it seemed like good value and I was told it would be loud enough to withstand a drummer and another guitarist.

However I've recently come across the Fender Rumble 500 combo amp which seems to be well regarded and if I'm not mistaken does possess a wattage of 500 watt RMS. The Rumble would cost me 670 Euros whereas the BQ500 &amp; cabinet would cost approx 500 to 550 Euros.

I'm just wondering what advantage would there be for me to choose a bass head with a cabinet such as the BQ500 over a combo amp such as the Rumble 500? I've also discovered that there is a Rumble 500 bass head and I'm wondering why would someone choose the bass head version of the Rumble 500 over the combo version? What advantage does it actually have? I've tried looking up this stuff online but I can't seem to get a clear answer.

Any helpful information kindly provided would be much appreciated.

Question about what amp I should buy for playing small to medium venues

Super light and provides the great Ampeg tone that I can no longer live without. Great for bringing it to jam sessions or small gigs because of its portability. Puts out a great amount of power for such a little unit. Very easy to get a good tone in the mix with a band with this bass head

 Yeah. So yeah, it's, it's really so it's got a lot more volume than I expected. Especially to be such a cute little package, you know, 210 little head, not super light, but it's not incredibly heavy. Yeah, I bet it does record really nicely

So there it is, Ampeg Micro SVT or Micro VR is what it is, Vintage Reissue is what VR stands for. It comes with the flimsiest speaker cable ever, but we've got it and a power cable

 So let's open it again. Like Tim mentioned, you know it's fancy because you open it once and it still ain't open. So let's see. What's it, MJC? So got a bunch of cardboard packing materials, these aside, place is going to be a mess

 15 years. But I picked up this Micro VR from Ampeg because I have a big, you know, SVT tube head, 8 by 10 and a 410. But I've got a couple of gigs next week. I got a bunch of guitar gigs, but I've got a couple of bass gigs as well in the next two weeks where it just doesn't make sense to bring the giant rig
