 So starting with Cinebench you can be a good judge of exactly what many motherboards end up doing to inflate results. There's a huge difference between the two settings. Basically, if you're getting over 3600 in Cinebench R20, there's some serious enhancement going on behind the scenes, pushing Pl One clocks beyond Intel's defaults. But then again, this type of enhancement doesn't impact single core results since in lightly threaded scenarios, the Cpu can hit and maintain its maximum turbo frequencies without any help

Intel Core i5-11400 Review - NOT as Good as you Think!

Great processor with great performance. Would give it 5 stars but it is extremely power hungree with stock settings & to a lesser degree even tuned for lower power while keeping performance. Forget anything close to the rated TDP as that is strictly base clock TDP which very few people will actually use.  Rated TDP at base clock is 65 watts but when using turbo even with best settings at drew 140 watts & with out of box settings of motherboard it drew over 160 watts & throttled due to excess heat even with a good aftermarket heat pipe cooler

Nice processor with very good performance but very hot.

Pair it with Noctua H9i, and the temperature is high even at Idle around 38 degree. I am using HTPC case, and the integrated graphic, which could be root cause, buying a AIO fan now, hopefully it will gets cooler.

I agree with Steve honestly, zen 3 6 & 8 core CPUs are just too expensive while Intel 11th gen is mostly a joke launch (except i5 11400/f). Can't wait for AMD to release a 5600 non-X at under $250 and 5700X at under $350

 Costs about 20 us more than the 10 400 F, and well, that is a fairly insignificant cost increase, I guess. and you can pair it with all the same motherboards, so there's no difference there in terms of board pricing, so I feel the upgraded features alone make the premium worth it. Now for those of you more focused on productivity tasks, the 11400f is a no-brainer You'd always pick it over the older 10400f and really, even the 11600k. In fact, there's basically no point buying the 11 600k at 270 us
