Edges are scratchy as others have noted. Deal breaker IMO

I like the size of it but it's nothing special and the price matches that. Cat hair gets stuck to it easily unfortunately but it's a great budget choice.

 Maybe the only downside is the weight because it's a chunky one so it will add to the load when traveling. I weighed it around about 720 grams here or there, so it's heavier than some keyboards, so this is a good pad. It's probably going to last quite a while. It's been around for a long, long time as well

 This provides extra comfort and support when gaming, but there is another reason as well. I find that thicker pads are really good for those that maybe don't have the best quality desks. For example, when I go to some line events, it's a bit of a dice roll on whether or not you get a good desk or not, and sometimes there's a few lumps and chips. Normally I would have to bring two mouse pads to lessen the effect of these, but with a thicker one, it might not be that much of an issue

I have only used this product for a few weeks, so I cannot speak to its long-term durability, though it certainly seems resilient so far. I will update this review if and when it degrades.  One final thought - I usually dislike visible branding on my products, even stylish branding like the logo on Apple laptops, but I don't mind the logo on this pad

 - The right size. It's large compared to a normal mouse pad - maybe 50% larger in each dimension - but smallish compared to some gaming mousepads. It ends up feeling large yet not quite unwieldy. Perfect mousepad for me - not durable

. That pad has flattened out and isn't tearing up the mouse feet after months of usage.

It came rolled up in a steelseries box with a little opening for people to feel the pad. The pad is rough no getting around it. Surely, it couldn't have started off this way? Did it get too hot in some run-down warehouse or something and partially melt? It has gotten slightly smoother with use but still feels rough. Steelseries logo isn't peeling but is wrinkled in places
