The Allen Deluxe 2-Bike is an impressively inexpensive trunk-mount rack. This basic design fits on a wide variety of cars and SUVs and can support two bikes and up to 70 lbs of total weight. It comes fully assembled, only requiring one simple step to ready it for use. Five straps secure it to the back of the vehicle with rubber-coated hooks that attach to the top, sides, and bottom of the trunk. Rubber frame cradles support the bikes by the frame and secure with nylon straps and plastic buckles. Due to its support arm design, it works best with bikes that have traditional frame shapes. This lightweight rack weighs just 7 lbs and 9 oz, and it folds up very small for storage when not in use.
Considering the staggeringly low price of the Allen Deluxe 2-Bike, it didn't surprise us that it was incredibly basic. The rack itself is in a fixed position, as are the bike support arms, so it has virtually no adjustability to fine-tune the fit for your vehicle or bike frame. The fixed support arms may not work with all bike frame styles, particularly some full-suspension mountain bikes. It also has no security features of any kind, so locking the rack to your vehicle or the bikes to the rack isn't possible. All that said, we feel this is a serviceable option for the infrequent user in search of a simple and very affordable trunk-mount rack.

Love the design. This is my second rack. Original straps weakened with age, so I needed to replace original. Unfortunately, straps on new model don’t seem to be as robust and appear to be thinner

I bought this not intending to use for extremely long trips, but have gotten a couple 6+ hour trips under my belt now, to go along with shorter local trips (~1 hour). I'm pleasantly surprised at how sturdy it was on our latest trip; while the first trip we took we had to check the straps and re-tighten, after we've used a few times it became really easy to securely attach to our car. Drove to Lake Tahoe ~7 hours away, highway driving + mountain roads, high winds, and the bikes didn't move.  Use the extra strap length to tie the tires together so they don't move in the wind (or something else) to help keep the straps tight and secure

I'll say, bikes connecting only in the one spot does give me some worry, and I think there could be a bit more security to them, but for the money you aren't likely going to get a better rack.

Safe and Secure (enough) - Value is there!

It fits on my Hyundai Sonata 4-door, but I had to attach the bottom strap under the car instead of the bottom of the trunk. Easy to install, hasn't shifted position in a week's worth of city driving, and holds a Trek Marlin 6 without issue (I had to buy a crossbar adapter, but that was easy enough).

Will be useful in a few years

 This is being used on a 2022 Toyota Corolla, a car this IS listed as compatible with. Again, it works great and I'm glad my bike survives the trips I take it on.

Does the job, just wish it didn't cause damage to my car's paint job.

Premium trunk mount bike carrier provides robust attachment and fits wide range of vehicles including those with a spoiler.

Thule impressed us with the Outway Hanging 2 trunk rack with clever design features that help to address some of the issues that plague most other trunk-mount models. At 18.3 lbs, it is lightweight and it folds down small for transport or storage. After the initial setup, it is very easy to install and remove thanks to its unique attachment system which also helps to make it the most stable and secure trunk rack when in use and loaded with bikes. The horizontal support arms support up to 35 lbs per bike, and they feature lateral adjustability for a wider range of bike fit. The ratcheting straps provide a secure bike hold, with anti-sway stabilizers to keep the bikes steady in transit. Instead of nylon webbing straps, the Outway uses locking steel cables to attach to the vehicle along with a locking cable for the bikes to deter theft of both the rack and the bikes. It also comes in a 3 bike version.
While we loved the Outway Hanging 2, it does suffer from the same limitations as most other trunk racks. Most notably, it is limited to a maximum weight of 33 lbs per bike, and it works best with bikes with horizontal top tubes &#40;unless you purchase the Thule Frame Adapter&#41;. This rack does fit a wide range of vehicles, but it doesn't work with all vehicles, so it is important to reference Thule's Fit my car feature on their website to find out. Like any trunk rack, bike-on-bike interference may also be unavoidable depending on the sizes and styles of bikes you carry. Regardless, if it fits your vehicle and bikes, we feel this is the best trunk rack on the market.

Budget Pick

 This is clearly a Thule problem. They have not properly designed the box to handle the weight of the rack. Now for the learning curve: It was actually easy to fit to my car and went on well (I have a 2019 Volvo S60 - which is the model sedan for the rack in the Thule video). However, I had a terrible time getting my road bike onto the rack - it's a carbon frame and needs Thule's frame protector - which adds 1/2" or so to the frame diameter, making the clamping yet more difficult

Terrible Packaging, Long Learning Curve, but a Great Bicycle Rack Nonetheless

 This lock and key was difficult to operate from the very beginning, but just broke completely on it's last use. We had a struggle getting it off the car without being able to unlock the tension adjustment for the straps/cables holding it to our car. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! Awful instructions both in the written instructions packed with the bike rack, as well as the You Tube they recommend. Drawings and slick videos do not replace useful instructions

 I needed a rubber mallet and lots of patience to get the uninstalled arms attached. There are locks on this bike rack for reasons they do not explain. They might lock adjustments you might make to the rack to fit your car after the 2 hour set up process-but I cannot be sure as one of the locks stays locked, one wont lock at all and the other locks but I cannot figure out what it actually locks. Nothing clear in the instructions

A bit pricey, and a bit of work to get it together, but the bike stays secure, and once put together it si easy to put on and take off. Worth the price.

Best Trunk Rack around

I was looking for a bike rack that would fit the hatchback style of my Honda civic. Could not find other rear mount bike racks that would fit. With the fit guide from Thule , decided to go with the Outway 2 bike rack. The bike rack fits properly and is easy to put on and remove from the car hatch
