aesthetic of the City Sling

The City Sling originates from
a very popular collaboration

So for a while it was an
exclusive just to Japan

but it's been brought into the U.S. market

I had this sling over
at our first official

and the overall aesthetic at that meetup.

Even though most of Aer's bags are black,

I think it's a combination
of the 1680D Ballistic Nylon

that they have, as well
as these really big, fat,

that they kind of use as
an aesthetic design element

We liked the look of
this sling but we decided

since it's currently
sold out at the moment.

going on right below the
compression strap here.

and their logo doesn't interfere too much

To wrap up the rest of the
materials on this sling,

we have that 1680D Ballistic Cordura Nylon

Some of them are AquaGuard"and
some are reverse coil.

To wrap this up, we have
Duraflex plastic hardware

as well as the compression
adjusters on the sides.

Let's check out the
exterior of this sling,

First of all there is a
massive Duraflex buckle

on the front here, and then
we have strap adjusters

We've seen a very similar

these elastic keepers can
start to slide around a bit

and creep, and then you
get a little bit more

One other note on the big
buckle is that if you're

and wear a larger bag on the
back and a sling on the front,

this big buckle can kind
of get in the way between

but I could see it being a
little bit more noticeable

if you're going with a bigger
bag, around forty liters.

If you have a smaller frame
you can also tighten the buckle

completely to one side,
leave the other one loose

yourself some more room.

Now, this isn't really a con of the sling

One other benefit to a
sling strap like this,

that's anchored a little
bit more towards the middle,

is that you can wear it
like a hip belt, bum bag,

fanny pack, whatever you
want to call it, as well.

 And then we have Ykk zippers as well. Of course, in the Signature Air style, we have the number 10 Ykk Aquaguard zipper being used as a design element on the front, and then we have reverse coil Ykk zippers here as well. Then we have some hypalon. rubbery hypalon material too

 As far as other notable, notable materials, we have a magnetic fidlock buckle on the strap here, and then we have aluminum hardware at the end here that allows the strap to anchor properly. more on that later. And then we have Ykk zippers as well. Of course, in the Signature Air style, we have the number 10 Ykk Aquaguard zipper being used as a design element on the front, and then we have reverse coil Ykk zippers here as well

 let's start off with the front pocket here so that opens up with that Ykk number 10 zipper. We have the keychain inside too. I really do like the keychain compared to what Air has normally given us in the past, which is just a cheap plastic clip. This is more of that carabiner design style, which I like

 This doesn't really happen with the X-pack versus version as much. You're gonna get that more with the 1680d ballistic nylon. the expat version. It just is more slick and it'll kind of come off all right

Aer City Sling 2 Review (2 Weeks of Use)

 In the case of the X-pack bag, by Dimension Polyen, you're getting both a slightly lighter base fabric as well as improved element resistance. Now, we should point out that the bag isn't completely waterproof. However, the additional coating around the exterior does help to provide some more protection against unexpected rainfall. More than anything though, it gives the City Sling to an ultra premium look and feel
