 When I saw the City Sling release in x-pac material though, I new I had to go for it. Initial impressions are that it’s a very compact and organized.

 For a small sling, I’ve just bought the AER City Sling 2. Reasonable price from A UK stockist. It’s small, hugs the body and looks classy.

I have a bunch of backpacks, and a couple of briefcase-style bags/satchels, and a smaller messenger bag.  I'd like something to replace the old messenger bag, and I'm pretty set on a sling bag. 

I've read a pile of reviews, looking at things like the Fjallraven Greenland Pocket, the Bellroy City Pouch Plus, and the Are Day Sling Max.  

What I can't quite visualise is the size of these things; I really want something that can be small and compact, close to me for when I'm out on holiday just carrying wallet, phone etc, but maybe with space for expanding when I'm carrying more.  

Most I would generally carry would be AirPods Max and a Nintendo Switch in a small case; I could probably still use the messenger bag I have if I needed to carry a tablet or laptop.

Any recommendations?  I look at some and with photos of them with a phone in them, I worry that AirPods Max in their charging case wouldn't fit.

Sling Bag Recommendations

- Aer City Sling 2 (I liked the look, but it was a little bulky and the fidlock buckle was so sharp it kept scratching my neck whenever I’d take the sling off). I’m basically looking for something that’s compact and lightweight [that’ll store mostly flat so it can fit into my travel backpack with minimal bulk] that wont draw too much attention [i.e., no flashy colors] when I travel and walk around a new city

I quite like the Aer city sling 2 but that is a little too big of an investment, I just need a relatively cheap  (£30-£50, I don't know if that's too low, like the titles says, I am very new to this) sling bag that looks nice and also has atleast 4 pockets or so. There probably isn't a bag that fits all my needs but all suggestions will be hugely appreciated.

I tried many slings (including the Aer Day sling and the full sized Chrome Kadet) and settled for the COB X Pod (but I altered it to suit my needs - you can see what I did to it on my profile).

looking for something not small but not massive, just a good middle ground sling that can be worn well both in front or in back. These were the two I seemed to like the most but dont know which to buy and are both the same price. If you have experience with both which do you prefer? or if you only have one, do you like it?

looking for my first sling bag, would you recommend the Chrome Industries mini kadet or Aer day sling 2?

 Within Air's extensive array of cross-body bags, Daisling 3 occupies a nice middle ground. It's larger than the Svelt City's limb, yet not quite as expansive as the Travel Sling, or even the cavernous Slingback for that matter. True to its namesake, it's designed to act as an extension of your pockets, holding just enough for a long day's outing. Accordingly, it clocks in at a manageable eleven and a half inches long, six inches wide, and three inches deep, yielding some three liters of total storage capacity

 Being an airbag, there has to be some sort of quick access compartment around the outside. At the front, the Daisling 3 sports a horizontal slash pocket fastened with a water resistant zipper. It offers an integrated leash onto which you can clip your keys. Finally around back, Air has placed a stealthy hidden pocket for stowing flatter carry like wallets

 The bag doesn't exactly disappear when it's on your person, but it's far from bothersome to wear. Because here's the thing. between the materials and the construction: the Air Day Sling is engineered to be comfortable for hours at a time. On the one hand, it's pretty lightweight, tipping the scales at just a little under a pound

Hands-On: Aer Day Sling 3 Review

 It’s a fairly minor issue given the unlikely odds of it happening, but it’s an issue we did not encounter with the Day Sling 2’s reliable side release buckle. 

For smaller items, though, the main compartment has a lot of smaller pockets to keep things organized. If you’re disappointed that there are no longer pockets in the front compartment, you’ll be happy to know that the main compartment gained two—it seems they just changed addresses. 

 Alternatively, we can sort of squeeze it inside the narrow tag, but this is a less-than-ideal solution. For now, we’re more confident using the tag as a pen loop, but perhaps one of Tile’s boxier smart trackers will fit better here. 

 Take note that since the main strap is non-removable, it just dangles around when you carry the sling by the handle. As a workaround, stuffing the strap in the rear pocket is an option, though not a very elegant one.
