 Let'S talk midsole now, so we have boost here in the midsole with what appears to be a top sole of light strike. It'S quite tough to say, though, where the light strike ends where it begins. I'M not going to chop this shoe up, because i just can't bring myself to do that. However, the materials are laid out

 Perhaps it's providing a little bit of longevity to the boost material and one thing to note: the insole that's supplied with these or the sock liner. If you want to call it that is one of the thinnest that i've seen barely there almost sort of paper thin. Really don't expect any considerable cushion from that insole? I suppose you could throw a slightly thicker one in to boost the underfoot cushion. I don't think this is a shoe i'd really select for out and out speed, work or high-paced effort

 So there's something strange there going on in terms of the perhaps the last that they've used in terms of the upper, but just a little bit too much material for my liking. It meant that we had a little bit of bunching around the toe box area. Actually, quite similar to some asics shoes, i've tried out recently where it's just way too much upper around this section of the shoe. It has to be noted that i have a regular width foot

 Almost i used a couple of the holes that are within the tongue to actually hold the tongue in place using the laces and now that's just a distant memory. I'Ve got to say overall, the upper fit here is quite unlike the sl20 or the adi zero pro. Actually, i find it a little bit too roomy in comparison to those shoes they fit like gloves where this one fits like a glove of someone with a larger hand, just a little too much upper for me in the 11.5 uk

 We'Ve got a nice like mesh operating. It'S not like the cellar mesh that you have in the adios pros and the adi zero pros. Nor is it like the one that you have in the adios fives but uh. The upper is maybe like a dual layered upper, but it's not that bad, maybe a little bit more warmer than the other ones, but, as you can see also on the sides, it does have that cellar mesh material as well according to most places the shoe in A size 9 comes in around 240 grams

 Just a running shoe, there's no carbon plate. There'S no nylon plate it just it's comfy, it gets you running and it feels good when you run so yeah. Those have been my thoughts and feelings of the adidas adi zero boston, nines, i've done 250 kilometers, i'm going to continue running them, and if i find some more good deals on the issues i'm going to be buying some for future runs. Have you run in these? We are going through shoes that have put you know: super high stack heights, lots of cushioning nylon plates carving plates and everything - and this shoe, i think, just runs to like true to what running is probably about it's.   It's as heavy as the Ghost and heavier than the Wave Rider, and it feels extremely stiff.  Needless to say, I didn't buy it, and mentally I buried an entire line of racers in a grave.  Rest in Peace, Adidas Boston.  (I'm not saying it's a bad shoe, but it absolutely does not suit my needs

 It just looks amazing, other nice little details that they've got going on is they've got on the slight amount of padding. That'S on the forefoot, which I like just this amount of padding. The tongue has different labels on it. So one side has India's label, the other side has a Boston Marathon label and then even on the Aglets on the laces one side says Boston

 I just think it looks amazing. It'S a real surprise that I didn't really pick up in any of the images that I saw online and when I actually opened up the box and looked at these shoes, I was just really impressed. I want a shoe that has the cushion and drop of my Hoka Speedgoat with the toebox of my Altra Olympus 4.0.

Beware they do run very narrow at the toe and are not for everyone. If you needed the extra toe room you could look to the Hoka EVO Speedgoat,. EVO Mafate 2 or the Mafate Speed 3, all of which are high cushioned but have a stretchy bit of fabric over the toe, which can make the fit more accommodating.

I currently run in Nike Pegasus Trail Gore Tex. they are ok. But not great. 

Recently switched my road shoes to Hoka Rincon 2 for slower, longer runs and Saucony Endorphin Pro for speed runs.  I quite like the cushioning on the Rincons and am now looking for a trail shoe. 

I am nervous as the Speedgoat 4 were originally released January 2020 and the speedgoat 3 the January before that. So a little concerned that a Speedgoat 5 comes out soon.

Need a new pair of shoes. Are the Hoka One One Speedgoat 4s a good choice?

After 6 or so hours, my soles hurt and I always wish I wore something with more protection or a rock plate. But a more protective shoe is harder to run in.

Shoes for long days of running &amp; hiking

I’ve done a couple ultras in loose snow, which felt a lot like running in sand to me. I’ve used both the SpeedCross and Hoka SpeedGoat. The ‘goats might have had the advantage due to the much wider sole helping with flotation, but I felt they got a lot heavier when wet. In all instances I studded the soles with about 8 sheet metal screws at the end of some select lugs, which I felt helped with a little extra grip even when ice wasn’t an issue

Wondering if anyone had any advice about shoes that may be better suited for sandy environments. I’m used to running in rocky, rooty, muddy Vermont environments and want to be better prepared for a trail that is relatively flat but very sandy. I currently sport the Salomon speed cross 5s and have used them in sand before but really don’t feel like the larger lugs give any advantage

Recommendations for trail shoes for sand

For years I wore boots (really heavy), then shoes (heavy) and now trail runners (not so heavy). I prefer the Hoka One Speedgoat trail runners. They are good for dry conditions, have great grip and stability (for me). I have never had ankle stability issues, so it works great

, (4) have great cushioning for all-day wear on sharp surfaces, and (5) are not so heavy that I feel like I'm fighting the shoe when picking up the pace. I've run in Altra Timps and Lone Peaks, Brooks Caldera 4, La Sportiva Jackal, Salomon Sense Ride 3, and Topo MTN Racer 1s and none of these had all-day underfoot cushioning and protection against sharps like the Speedgoats. The durability of my Speedgoats have been good.

I like the look of some of the Nikes (pegasus trail 2 gtx, wildhorse 7) but I wanted some input from yall. New trail running shoes

I run in the Speedgoat 3s and the Speedgoat 4 is a step back for me with regards to weight since it got heavier. The Speedgoat Evo on the other hand, is a huge improvement and superior to the Speedgoat 3 and 4.

For 3 season hiking I chose Hoka speedgoat 3, followed very closely by the brooks cascadia. They're both VERY comfortable shoes that are light and breath + dry very well. Lightness + Breathability + Drying quickly > a heavy gnarly boot that tries to keep you clean and dry but inevitably will get water logged from sweat anyway or the elements, just might take longer vs a trail runner. Also 1 pound on your foot is 5 pounds on your back

I'm  new to hiking but my girlfriend finally convinced me to go to a hiking  trip with her, somewhere around Schönau am Königssee and on the mountain area around it (nothing extreme tho). I've been looking for some proper shoes cause I'm  pretty sure I would regret it if I go with my ultra boost, and I've  found a few alternative:

1. Salomon  Quest Prime GTX: The only boots. Is it okay or overkill? I think it's  the most robust of them all and I can wear it when hiking during winter  or ski vacation. (114 euro)
2. Salomon  XA Pro 3D V8: trail runners, seems really comfy. However, no  waterproofness (can't use it in winter). I don't know if it offers  enough protection and grip? (96 euro)
3. Salomon  Trailster 2 GTX: quite similer to the XA, with GTX waterproofness.  However I've heard some controversy regarding GTX on trail runners (too  warm, sweaty feet). (72 euro)
4. Last  but not least: Merell Moab 2 (vents or GTX). Mother of all boots.  Almost bought the vents one immediately but read that it's really,  really prone to getting wet (even with just some wet grass). Not sure if  it's true and if I should just get the GTX version. Both around 80-90  euro.

What do you guys  think? Sadly I can't go to Globetrotter cause of the 'rona. I appreciate  any answer or if you have other suggestions, I would be very thankful!  Thanks and sorry for the long post. :)
