Acer XFA240 vs Dell S2721QS

Everything was selling like crazy and stock was ever-changing, and I just wanted something 1080p. I managed to snag an Acer XFA240 (24" 1080p 144hz 1ms) for $170 on Amazon, but it's now $350+. Idk if you'll get anything in your price range reliably. You just gotta get lucky constantly looking right now

Mine also has a physical defect and I was planning on returning it. Customer service was horrible to deal with.

I'm going to try swapping the DP cable, currently using the one that came w/it. UPDATE: better cable did not work. Found out the picture issues are related to the refresh rate. I understand this is common in low end monitors If you tune the refresh rate back to 60hz the colors/gamma/contrast improve

I have found toggling the refresh rate in the display settings from 60hz to variable 40-60 and back fixes it instantly.

it really isn't an issue since it doesn't do it when it's just sitting there and not being touched. if it wasn't for that it would really be a perfect monitor. but to me it really isn't a big deal since it only happens when im cleaning my desk, plugging in a new cable, or just repositioning the monitor but i rarely do any of those things anyway so it really isn't a big deal. This monitor has been really good and all the issues besides that is just been windows 10 or user error

FYI: Although @DellCares was super-fast in asking for information, they never did respond at all once I'd provided it. If customer service is important to you, you may want to look at a different manufacturer for your next display.

Great display and nice design. My 13” laptop fits under it without covering the display. No need for a stand.

On that note, if you are buying your first monitor, because you are sitting closer, monitors appear larger than you might think having bought tv’s. What I mean is a 24 inch tv for watching the news is tiny, but this monitor for gaming is about the limits of how big I want a monitor. I had to look at the box and make sure it was the correct one/size. (Glad I didn’t buy a 37”) Anyway, it does 144hz 1080p and IMO does it well for a really great price

* Asus PA278QV (also too big and bit expensive but for now probably I would go with this one and try to come up with something to fit it on my desk)
