Riding a hard tail compared to my Yeti SB150 are two very different experiences. The Yeti is my little monster truck and clears gnarly sections much easier than any hard tail or Walmart bike.

I want something that is a do-everything enduro bike, for park laps, and local trails alike. I am open to other recommendations.

1) lower end Yeti SB150, because you mentioned pedalling and because you keep your bikes a long time. All dentist jokes aside Yetis are objectively superlative climbers and their C series isn't egregiously expensive. The frames have a lifetime warranty, there is a crash replacement policy (ie substantial discount) and the company has a good reputation in terms of customer support. Their component selection even on the low end bikes is great.

I currently own a Yeti SB150, and would highly recommend it. It climbs fantastic (better than many other shorter travel trail bikes that I’ve had/demoed) and is incredible on the descents. I do a couple enduros and bike park trips a year, and have had zero complaints there as well. It’s not the jibbiest bike out there, but it’s damn fast, handles well, and still has more than enough playfulness for park riding/jump lines.

If you want a fast enduro type bike that loves speed might look at the Santa Cruz Megatower or Yeti Sb150 or 165 depending on wheel size. Oh and the Trek Slash is pretty great as well! They are a bit less playful than the Specialized, but more predictable in the rough stuff. But truly there are not many of any bad bike out there in the $4k or so price range.

Full suspension enduro bike. Probably 150-160 mil would be fine. Like a Santa Cruz Megatower, Yeti SB150, Transition Sentinel, etc etc etc
