So I just got off the Yes Basic 155 and my overall impression was it's a pretty fun board. I had a good time on it.

If it was me I'd return it and swap for something a bit friendlier. The normal Warpig would be much more you speed if you like the shape, or a more forgiving all mountain twin like the Yes Basic. there are so many good first board options, but in my humble opinion, this isn't one of them.

Strongly consider the Yes Basic.

“Just say no” to any Flying V profile for the Midwest. It will be nearly useless for most Midwest conditions. It’s a fun board in the right conditions which are pretty much limited to surfy powder days out west.

I'm looking at getting the Yes. Basic for my first board and wanted recommendations for bindings to pair it with. Currently looking at Salomon Holograms cause they're on sale and they seem pretty good.

Yes Basic 2022 changed quite a bit board's characteristics. It is visible from the sizing chart, what fitted me in 2021 - 155 now in 2022 is 152. I'am 62/63 kg and 171cm. I've just received 152 2021, but discovered it's sizing chart is not what I've seen on Yes' website.

If someone at a shop recommends that, then you're dealing with someone who doesn't know their stuff, which happens all the time at retail outlets. I would recommend the Yes Basic, which is a fantastic do-everything board for beginner-intermediate, and can still be good even if you reach advanced/expert levels.
