In Ear Monitors - help needed. I’m a 43 year old drummer in a 3 piece band (guitar &amp; bass). We’ve used wedges since the beginning but we need to make the change to an in-ear system with individual mixers. Where do we start? What do recommend?

 The fit is another thing that surprised me, I have never had such an amazing fit. Out of all the Iems I have reviewed I have never had such a comfortable fit with such a nice seal. Isolation is fantastic as well as the passive noise isolation is best in class. The T9 is great for both stage use and casual listening in the comfort of your own home

The T9 has more of an L-shaped tonality with a definite emphasis in the low-end and is more warmer, darker sounding and smooth without anything grating or offensive to the sound.

The T9 can hit hard for an all BA iem. The bass is fast, tight and comes with some serious oomph! The transient response is very fast and the bass is very well detailed and layered. Really a great set if you want a bass that provides that nice and guttural haptic buzz with enough slam to be very satisfying.

 Macro details are easily heard and even some micro-details. The treble rolls-off a bit early which add to the warmth of the sound.

Exceptional Quality

I started using IEMs (Westone headphones/Xvive U4 rcvr-trans) and I gotta say, such a game changer. I’m a full time solo singer-guitarist, usually playing about 8 gigs a week and it was such an upgrade, especially at home practicing.

I find myself mixing on an iPad more and more these days. I really miss having my headphones to do quick checks on channels and also help in chasing feedback. I'm debating getting am IEM setup for myself so I can patch into the console on stage and be able to solo channels to my IEMs.

Many of the acts I'm working with have their own wireless mics and IEMs.

Are there any decent lower end setups that would work if I'm not overly concerned about perfect sound quality? It's just for a reference point so I don't care if it's perfect.

Affordable IEM for FOH work?

 The subbass is also impressive, maintaining extension and rumble even down to around 10hz. Very impressive, especially for a balanced armature!!

The sound signature is definitely best described as L shaped. The bass is very prominent, and takes the mainstage. Thankfully, this has to be one of my favorite implementations of balanced armature bass I've heard. More specifically, the bass is extremely tight, and slams unexpectedly hard

 Vocals sound fairly good, especially female vocals in genres like Jpop. Instrument separation is also good! The only real concern is, the timbre isn't quite as natural as some other iems in the price range.

The midrange is decent, but in general the whole midrange is overshadowed slightly by the bass. The midrange is generally soft, and non fatiguing. The included cable is good enough, but I'm a little crazy and swapped it with a yinyoo cable anyway! The included tips fit fine, but I actually found them to hurt the sound quality. These actually have a somewhat claustrophobic sound with the stock tips, and was improved massively when using different tips. I ended up using TRN T eartips, and it sounded so much better!

The xvive t9 is a beautifully crafted 2ba iem, that has a very engaging sound!

 I bundled it with the Shure SE215 ears. All of that is under $500, and it’s a great platform to start with.

I’m going on the road with a band in a few weeks and they do ears. I play in a pit of keyboards so the tethered packs get caught up in my stool constantly.
At this point I’m having a hard time shelling out $1k so… are there any RELIABLE wireless systems for much less?

Affordable Wireless IEM System?

As a session drummer & content creator, I hate having bulky headphones on while filming videos. They always look weird, and usually get uncomfortable & heavy after a while. These are a lot smaller than over ear headphones, so that’s a big plus for me!

Sound Quality: These sound VERY clear and have crazy clarity & quality! In fact, I have to turn the audio tracks significantly lower than usual, because I almost blew my ears out at first, which is good, because you always want to have a decent amount of head room in your mix. I filmed a couple of videos using these and they are perfect for what I do, so I am happy with this purchase & look forward to putting them to work!

is 2.4 ghz ok for IEMs?

Sound quality feels very solid and balanced. I'm not a live drummer, so I can't speak on that - but for live bass playing they seem great. Also pretty darn loud and bright which is great for loud performances. You also get the carrying case and 1/4 adapter + cleaning tool

 I'm currently using them with the smallest memory foam tips - and I typically wear large ear plugs if that gives you an idea. I still kinda wish they were a bit shallower though, but that may just be me and my ears. The nice thing is they give you plenty of different sized tips so getting the right fit should be super simple!
