Personally, I got my Apache MF Western Mountaineering bags normally $550 at a 20% discount. (.91kg and -9.5C) After doing research, it was worth the extra cost. Might not be to others, but sleeping bag/pad is a huge item in terms of weight and quality of life. Not about vainity just overal ease of use, comfort, durability, etc.. never regretted the purchase which I can't say for others sleeping bags I've had.
