So, is the TRM Atom worth the hype? In my opinion- no.

TRM Atom or Neutron are right at $200 and imo, are worth trying to get over a Spyderco/Benchmade at that price

I own a few favorites in popular steels (TRM atom in 20Cv, endura & police in K390, Pm2 in maxamet, super freek in M4). I recently bought a RAT 2 in AUS-8 and found it to be pretty nice as well, cardboard tests by outpost 76 seem to indicate that it holds it’s edge as well as some higher end steels from other manufacturers, conversely D2 seems to be all over the place.

TRM Atom, SpydieChef, Quiet Carry Drift, Vero Synapse XL, and a good ol’ Para 3 in 20CV

We kitefin, zt 450, or protech malibu if you are staying under $200. A TRM Atom or Neutron isn't much higher than that if I recall and their knives are sublime.

Of the knives that I don't currently own, but would like to, I'd say it's probably the TRM Atom or the Pro-Tech Malibu. From my current collection, it's the Quietcarry Waypoint without question.

That is the best budget knife in my opinion and will give you a good perspective of what you can get with your money. Then I would add a nice bugout. You can get a 535bk-4 for around $200 on knife swap, which is a great knife. If you want something a little bigger then I would go with the spyderco kapara or trm atom both you can get for around $200.

I am really enjoying the protech Malibu and the trm atom really amazing knives! Budget area I would say the civivi button lock and the cjrb scoria are 2 great knives I’m looking forward for the new civivi button lock flipper that’s coming out I believe it’s called the cogentier?
