I have something like 1200 records at this point and It's where most my disposable income goes. Up to this point I've been quite happy with my Technics SL-B2. It was cheap when I bought it and aside from a broken dust cover, the thing was in top shape. It's definitely a work horse; I didn't need to replace a thing this whole time (only a cartridge upgrade), everything just works as it should.

Fits the Technics models mentioned no issues! Do your research to double check your model number of turntable. Easy to install if you just take your time and learn how to change the belt with a video. Belt is well made and not flimsy.

It was like audiophile heaven, will all the top brands from stereos, speakers, turntables.. you name it! The owner was real friendly and I was walking in initially looking for a Technics SL-1300 or similar models with the intentions on spending about $300 to $350. Everything in the store has been serviced by professional technicians and all turntables came with a 80% used cartridge to brand new. So I told him I would like to see what the best I could do with my budget and he narrowed me down to this one for $450 and Technics SL-B2 for $350.

Provide quickly and as stated. The only issue was that the a teal identification of the specific cable didn’t match the ordered part number. Which made it a little confusing but still easy to install.

The later the turntable, closer you get to the 90s, the cheaper everyone made them. If the ones you are looking at are broken I would look for a Technics SL-D2 or a SL-B2. They were decently made and very little seems to go wrong with them. And what does is fairly easy to fix.

I have not had an original belt in years, so I don't know if the new belt is exactly the same as the original, but it works just fine so far, we will see how long it lasts.

Are you just getting started or maybe upgrading from a cheaper deck like a Crosley? If so, I would recommend a used turntable from Kijiji, a Pyle phono preamp from Amazon and a pair of Edifier 1280 powered speakers from Amazon. There is a Technics SL-B2 on Kijiji in Calgary for $100 which is a fair price for a reliable deck. All in it will be cheaper than the deal you are looking at.
